The Flow State for Relief from Worries
Experiencing the flow state through engaging activities helps to alleviate worries and concerns. This state of complete involvement is referred to as 'flow' by positive psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. In this state, time seems to pass quickly, and individuals are fully absorbed in the activity, forgetting about other concerns. Csikszentmihalyi discovered the flow state in an experiment where teenagers reported feeling happiest during activities that required skill and effort, rather than passive activities like watching TV.
