The Dinaar program in the Netherlands is successful but does not fully address recruitment challenges. Despite a shortage of personnel in the Dutch armed forces and across Europe, traditional recruitment methods focusing on patriotism and values are falling short. An increasing aversion to fighting, even in defensive wars, is a significant factor in the difficulty of attracting new volunteers, as highlighted by low levels of enthusiasm for fighting for one's country in recent global surveys.
