143: Self-Criticism

Awareness Explorers

NOTE

Understanding and Transforming Self-Criticism

Self-criticism often stems from a voice in our head that was developed in childhood to protect us from criticism and punishment. This critical voice is a manifestation of love and care, trying to shield us from harm. By acknowledging the intention of this critical voice, thanking it for its protection, and reassuring it that it is no longer needed, we can transform it into a more positive and supportive inner voice. Through techniques like internal family systems therapy and showing this voice love and care, it can evolve into a kinder, more accepting part of ourselves.
