#10: Face Your Challenges - Don't let fear stop you

Welcome to the Small Steps BIG Wins podcast where today’s podcast unpacks a small step mentioned in one of my interviews. So I’m going to challenge you to do something different today that could have a big win for you in the near future. In Episode #9, I talked with Dr. David Powers and at the end of his interview, he encouraged all of us to face our challenges head on. So in today's episode, I’m going to talk about our interactions with our challenges, what will stop us from facing them, and what we can practically do to face our challenges “head on”. At the end, I give 5 practical steps that you can take to tackle your challenges. Recognize the challenge: The first step is to acknowledge that there is a challenge that needs to be addressed. Set a goal: Identify what you want to achieve and set a goal. Having a clear objective can help you stay focused and motivated. Break down the goal:  Work backwards into smaller, manageable parts. Identify what obstacles you may face and come up with strategies to overcome them. Take action: Start taking action towards your goal. Don't let fear or doubt hold you back. Even small steps can lead to progress. Seek support: Don't be afraid to ask for help. Seeking support from family, friends, or professionals can provide you with valuable guidance and encouragement. We all have it in us to overcome obstacles and challenges, so it's important to focus on your strengths and build your self-confidence. Remember that facing challenges is a part of life, and every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and learning. #6: The Comparison Trap: How to take your eyes off others and see yourself

Welcome back to the Small Steps BIG WINS podcast. I’m Sue Saller and I’m glad you are joining me today. I want to talk about something that is very common but we don’t give it much thought, and that is the comparison trap. I want to challenge your way of thinking when you start comparing yourself to others. When you find yourself comparing yourself to others, there are a few things that you can do: Learn to recognize when you are starting to compare yourself to others. Just the fact of acknowledging this will help you to stop the comparison before it grows bigger and gets worse. And at that moment, think of something that you have that you are thankful for. We can all be thankful for something and thankfulness is the antidote for discontent. Write down 3 wins that you have each day, and only 3! When you recount your wins for the day and write them down you are training your brain to focus on the gains in your life instead of the gaps. Write down 3 wins for tomorrow and only 3!!! If you write down more than 3, you are most likely not going to do any. Give yourself purpose for your day and then take satisfaction in your accomplishments. Compare who you are today with who you were in the past. This helps you to see how far you have come. Always measure backward. Bonus: Write down 3 things to be thankful for. Thankfulness is the antidote for discontent. If you have enjoyed my podcast, please subscribe, and visit my website at www.suesaller.com. I would love to hear from you! #2: “No good deed is so small to go undone” – Helping others helps yourself

Welcome to the Small Steps Big Wins podcast where I'm dedicated to helping you take control of your life. I'm Sue Saller, and I'm excited to be your host on this journey. I'll be bringing you inspiring stories, practical tips, and expert advice to help you overcome obstacles, set and achieve your goals, and live the life you've always wanted. In today's episode, we are going to look at the benefits of kindness not only to the receiver but the giver as well. I want to challenge your way of thinking  with a quote from a very good friend of mine. He was having a discussion with his wife about a small act of kindness that he did and she wondered why he even wasted his time to do that because it was probably insignificant to the receiver and didn’t seem like a big deal on the grand scheme of things. He responded to her with the following quote, “No good deed is so small to go undone.”  I talk about ways we can reprogram our minds to see even the smallest acts of kindness, how giving can actually improves our lives, and ways to look for opportunities to give. I'll list some practical examples and let your imagination do the rest.  If you have enjoyed my podcast, please subscribe and check out my website at www.suesaller.com.
