How Can We Overcome Burnout?

On today’s bonus episode, we get really practical. In Episode 67, we discussed what burn out is and offered preventative measures to avoid burnout. However, we realize that many of us are currently in a state of burnout! So then the question is: what practical steps can we take to overcome this state of chronic stress? In this short bonus episode, we discuss how incorporating rhythms of confession is important for all of us. If we’re in a state of burnout, we need to start by confessing that we’ve been living out of our own strength! Then we can take practical steps to respect God’s good limits for us. We need to intentionally yield to God’s design of tending to our physical needs, which means we need to consider the very real aspects of diet, exercise, and sleep. We pray this episode and its practical content is helpful to those currently in burnout.    Disclaimer: many symptoms of burnout mimic symptoms related to anxiety and depression. It is important to note that clinical anxiety and depression are not synonymous to burnout. Please consult a biblical counselor in your area for additional help, if needed.     Resources mentioned in this episode:  Ep. 67 How to Prevent Burnout as a Believer  Find a Certified Biblical Counselor    Scripture mentioned in this episode:  1 John 1:9  Philippians 4:7    Connect with us:  Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our iTunes page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).  Or follow us on Spotify!     We would love if you took a few minutes to leave us an iTunes review to help spread the word about Daily Grace!  We want to invite more women into our conversations!    Download The Daily Grace app: for iOS, click here to download.  On Android, click here to download.  Visit The Daily Grace Co. for beautiful products for the whole family that will equip you on your journey to knowing and loving God more.   Subscribe to The Daily Grace Newsletter and receive free Bible study resources in your inbox.   Like The Daily Grace Co. on Facebook.  Follow on Instagram for the latest updates on the podcast and The Daily Grace Co.   Engage with our Facebook community, “The Daily Grace Co. How to Prevent Burnout as a Believer

On today’s episode, we talk about burnout. This is something that many of us have faced, are facing, or dread we will face in the future. Burnout is a state of chronic stress. It can be described as feeling exhausted, stressed, overwhelmed, spent, and just plain done. It can come up in many different ways and in many different contexts, and it’s something any personality type can experience. But here’s the thing: our theology has direct implications to how we navigate this issue of burnout. In this episode, we explore what Scripture says about who God is and who we are in light of Him, and we discuss how those truths impact how we live. Believers don’t have to live in a state of burnout! We can go to God’s Word and see how He has designed His people to live on this side of glory. The Bible helps us live this Christian life by helping us establish a good pace; offering true nourishment; building endurance; and leading to true rest. We can prevent burnout and finish our race well. The Beauty of Racial and Cultural Diversity in the Church with Aubrey Coleman

Diversity is a beautiful idea from God. His image bearers are marked with racial and cultural differences. But the gospel is for people of every tribe, nation, and tongue, and we can get a taste of heaven when there is true unity amongst diversity within the body of Christ. But there are natural challenges we face! We are joined by Aubrey Coleman, and she offers great encouragement and practical suggestions on how we can pursue unity specifically regarding racial and cultural differences.    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? Pursuing Biblical Friendships that Thrive

Deep, meaningful friendships. We all want them! God actually designed us to live and grow in relationship to Him and each other. The Bible offers a vision of friendship that goes beyond doing things 50/50. It goes beyond affirming, venting, and commiserating. Christian friendship is an eternal bond offered by the blood of Christ. We serve each other sacrificially, help each other grow in holiness, etc. But how do we cultivate these friendships? Where do we start? Is God Really Trustworthy?

Has anyone ever told you to “trust God”? The assumption behind that phrase is that God is trustworthy. But how can we know that He will make good on His promises? Can we really trust that He will be faithful and work all things for our good? We can find ourselves asking these questions especially in times of suffering. We can trust God because He is a covenant-making and covenant-keeping God. Covenants show us how God relates to us, and why we can have a sure and confident hope in Jesus.     Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? What is the evidence that true forgiveness has taken place in our hearts and lives? What does it practically look like to extend forgiveness? Forgiveness isn’t just “forgive and forget”. Why Should We Forgive Others?

Do we forgive others for our good or the good of others? Is it for our own peace of mind or is it to foster peace with others? What does God’s Word have to say regarding the “why” behind forgiveness between people? God’s people are compelled by His love, grace, and forgiveness to extend love, grace, and forgiveness to others. It is a mark of a believer to have an ongoing attitude of forgiveness. But this doesn’t mean it’s easy: we need God’s help!    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions?
