Taking Time To Heal

After asking myself the question, "what can I do that would be deeply beneficial to me?", I received the answer, "take a step back where you can." Straight away I began to notice where I could pull back and one of those places was to take a break from podcasting this week. Of course, my thoughts are flying around saying how I can't do that. What's Your Relationship With Control?

As children, we create a control dynamic in order to deal with life's happenings. For example, maybe you were the eldest child and had all the love and attention from your caregivers. Then, your sibling is born and that love and attention is shared. Unconsciously you make a decision about what that means and how to behave in order to gain control back. Maybe it's by being overpowering to your younger sibling or becoming reckless to take the attention back. When You’re Filled With Anxiety

What do you do when you're filled with anxiety? Do you find it too uncomfortable to feel? Do you look for ways to distract yourself, will-fully tell it to, "fk off", or do you become it and let is take you over?I used to get angry when anxiety would show its face. I made it mean that something was wrong with me and that I wasn't mentally resilient. Now, I'm still not a fan but I have better ways of managing it. Not Just A Highlight Reel

Last week the full moon hit me hard! I woke up and felt like I'd been whacked across my head and was in a state of, "ughhhhh!"I shared about this on insta and plenty of people were in a similar boat. Most were like, "OMG, me too, thank God I'm not alone", whilst others offered advice to help shift the state I was experiencing. If you've watched Brene Brown's Atlas of The Heart on Binge, then you'll recall her talking about how control is the near enemy to compassion. That when you open up to someone and they feel uncomfortable, instead of sitting with you, they feel the need to fix or offer a solution. To me, it's important to share the whole journey of mental health and not just a highlight reel. It helps people feel heard, seen and less alone. Are You Investing In Yourself?

I wondered why I've been feeling so bloody good lately. It got me thinking and I asked myself, "what's changed?" It became clear that I've been investing in myself and am in 'learning mode'. At present, I have a coach who I reached out to, to help me expand. Recently, I went on the Her Trails Hiking Retreat in the Northern Territory and I signed up to Tory Archbold's business attraction program. It makes sense, I'm filling myself up with the goods and have tapped into people I respect and who I believe can help me.
