Velvet's Edge with Kelly Henderson
iHeartPodcasts
The Velvet's Edge Podcast is an invitation to explore the beautiful, messy truth that real growth is an inside job. Hosted by Kelly Henderson—a celebrity stylist and men's groomer who has learned firsthand that "looking good" on the outside only gets you so far—this podcast is a space for the conversations you don't always hear out loud.
Life has a way of knocking us flat, and Kelly believes there is purpose in that pain. She uses her own journey of plot twists to show that true beauty is found by going inward. On some days, you'll hear deep dives with therapists, healers, and other people who have turned their pain into something beautiful. On other days, Kelly and Chip Dorsch laugh their way through the weird, messy "WTF is this life?" moments, because growth is easier when you and your bestie can laugh through it together.
This podcast is for you if you've ever felt empty despite doing everything you were "supposed to" do. It's for you if you're stuck in a toxic relationship cycle and don't know how to get out. It's for you if you're in the middle of a total life plot twist and have no idea where to start. You aren't broken beyond repair. You are simply a human on a soul's journey, and even though we each have our own path, it's a lot easier when we have a little help from our friends.

Sober Curious Update (The Edge)
Sober Curious UpdateDescription: Kelly gives updates on where she stands with alcohol and her sober curious journey. She answers email questions about whether or not she is drinking at all, what today looks like and what cutting out alcohol completely for 10 months taught her.“Being sober curious means, literally, to choose to question, or get curious about, every impulse, invitation, and expectation to drink, versus mindlessly going along with the dominant drinking culture.” -Ruby Warrington“It was an interesting realization to see how disconnected from self I had become and the level of self respect that came from starting to choose myself and respecting my body. Ultimately, in many ways removing alcohol has really aided in my relationship with self.”The duo discussed mindless drinking and how alcohol is treated as a solution to everything in our culture. Kelly addressed why being sober curious doesn’t mean you have a problem with alcohol.“It’s actually so empowering. When someone says ‘do you want to drink?’ You actually pause and ask yourself- ‘do I want a drink right now?’ I just don’t think it hurts to ask the questions.”They also address the massive physical benefits Kelly discovered, including a drastic change in her anxiety levels.“You start to crave different things- a 20 minute walk, a quiet 10 minutes where you breathe deeply and connect to your body, 2 minutes of dancing around the room. You brain adjusts to new ways to get the hit of dopamine and they actually last longer and have no negative hangover effects.”Chip talks about his own journey of cutting back on alcohol. Author, CEO and founder of Kane Communications, Cynthia Kane, joins Kelly to discuss the ways fear drives our communication habits and styles.
