What's next for early return missionaries??
In today's episode of Saints Unscripted, Kwaku and David sit down with Spencer to talk about early released missionaries in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as Mormon missionaries).
Why do some missionaries come home early? Can they go back out? How should members treat these early return missionaries?? There are many reasons why missionaries come home early. It is important to remember not to judge them but simply support them.

The BEST and WORST Mormon marriage advice!
Okay. I think we can all admit that there is SO MUCH marriage advice and everyone has something different to say... do couples even agree on certain marriage advice? We wanted to put it to the test! So on today's episode, the hosts read a bunch of marriage advice and vote on whether or not it's good advice 😎 You might be surprised at how differently each individual feels about the advice given!
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (often referred to as the Mormon Church or LDS Church), members regard marriage as an important union that extends into the eternities.

The REAL Problem with Alcohol...
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church or the LDS Church), members are encouraged to refrain from alcohol. But can they sell alcohol? Can they work somewhere that sells alcohol? Can they cook with alcohol, assuming it 'cooks out'?
The health code in the Church of Jesus Christ is called the Word of Wisdom and is found in the Doctrine and Covenants, section 89. Kwaku and David discuss alcohol specifically and how refraining from the consumption of alcohol is very important in obeying God's command.
However, if you feel trapped by an addiction to alcohol or another substance, you aren't too far from Christ's atonement. Speak to a therapist, attend classes, do what it takes to regain control of your life.

Are Mormon Children BRAINWASHED??
Justin has been a member of 3 Mormons for awhile now and has been a member of the LDS Church for even longer ;) In this episode, Justin talks about his conversion story. In the Mormon Church, we often refer to being 'converted' as something only for people who weren't members of the church before. However, anyone who claims to believe a certain religion must first know if it is true for their self. They must come to an understanding, no matter how many years they've been in the religion.
Justin talks about how he grew up in a Mormon family (both of his parents were mormon as well as his siblings) but yet he still had to experience what was true and what was false. He had to decide if each of the things he was claiming were right were truly right. So he went through a process of learning and obeying til he eventually just knew it was all true.

What is Mormon Culture?
What is Mormon culture? Is it strictly Utah culture or does it apply to all Mormons?
When it comes to the negative elements of Mormon culture, it is disappointing because it detracts from the gospel of Jesus Christ. One characteristic that is ascribed to Mormon culture is frequent judging. Judging unrighteously is NOT taught in nor endorsed by the Mormon church, though it frequently happens. We should not be perpetuating negative Mormon culture.

Is Interfaith Possible Among Christians?
There are many, many families whose members represent different religious beliefs. There are also some who have left the Mormon religion to join another religious sect but have been deeply judged for their change.
Today we invited Jaxon Washburn on the show to talk about interfaith, specifically in regards to the Mormon religion. Jaxon is well-known among Mormon millennials for his well-thought opinions and beliefs. He represents a large portion of millennials who perhaps don't align with mainstream Mormonism but are still faithful, active members of the LDS Church. Jaxon shares a personal experience about his mom who left the Mormon Church and how to this day, he continues to regard her as a great example of courage and devotion.
Kwaku and Justin comment that though they know that the restoration of the gospel is true and incredibly important, Mormons must make a greater effort to love those who have left the LDS Church and those who have decided not to join the LDS Church. Jesus Christ taught us to love, regardless of religion or any other differing belief. While it's important to share the gospel, it must be done with love and faith.

People Who Saw the ORIGINAL Book of Mormon!
On September 22nd, 1827, Joseph Smith retrieved the golden plates that were later translated into the Book of Mormon. There are many people outside of the LDS Church who wonder if Joseph Smith was the only person who saw the golden plates, considering his frequent concealing of the plates. Also, Kwaku mentions an episode in South Park stating something like, "Joseph Smith had the golden plates even though nobody else ever saw them," which has further confused this notion of only Joseph seeing the golden plates. We know from the first few pages into the Book of Mormon that there were at least 11 witnesses to the golden plates, besides Joseph Smith.

Can I go into a Mormon Temple??
The answer is YES! And no… here’s the scoop. Whenever a temple is built in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), there is a period of time that the temple is open to the public.
However, a few months after the temple is finished, the temple undergoes a "dedication" in which the temple is dedicated to God and can no longer be open to the public. The dedication is broadcasted throughout the temple's region has the simple format of a prayer, song, a few talks, and a dedicatory prayer.

How cancer saved my life 🙌🏻
Today we had the AWESOME interview with Roseanne Service. Up until 2010, Roseanne had been living what looked like an easy life. She had participated in lots of cool organizations and held many leadership positions in her community as well as in the Church (Roseanne is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints -- otherwise known as the Mormon Church).
However, in 2010, Roseanne learned that she had a brain tumor. But being the diligent mother of 5 that she was, she knew she could get through hard things. So she kept pressing forward. But after a series of unfortunate events, Roseanne began to experience the most excruciating pain of her entire life. She was absolutely destroyed... Learn the rest of her story in the video:)

Biblical evidence of the Book of Mormon?!
In this video, we talk about one of the most asked-for yet one of the most controversial topics yet... Is there evidence for the Book of Mormon in the Bible?
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as Mormons) often emphasize their belief in the Book of Mormon. However, members of the Church also believe in the Bible to be sacred text, just like the Book of Mormon. Both are regarded as companions in teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. The Bible was written in one part of the world and the Book of Mormon in another. But both are clear testaments of Jesus Christ. (If you are unsure and want to read the Book of Mormon, send us a DM on Instagram and we'll send you a book:))
