So, for some of us it can be a big adjustment.    In this video, you will hear some tips, and some of the tricks that come with letting someone into every part of your life, but the best part of this video is listening to how much our hosts love and respect their spouses. Mormon Baptism for the DEAD?!

In this episode we talk about something unique to Mormonism: Baptisms for the dead. Fun fact. We don't literally baptize dead people. Nope, we actually do work "vicariously" for people that have died. In other words, we act in behalf of those people to be baptized.    Baptism for the dead only happens in LDS (Mormon) temples. Mormon temples can only be entered into by worthy members of the LDS Church who are over 12 years old. Baptism for the dead is performed just as it is for the living-- by full immersion in water and using the same prayer as would be said in a living baptism. Mormons call to give thanks!

Happy gratitude day!! Whether or not you’re watching this on Thanksgiving day or sometime in July, it’s a good day to be thankful :) In this episode, we’ve done something that we’ve NEVER done before. We challenged Mimi, Justin, and David to call someone out of the blue and let them know why they are grateful for them.    In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), members are often encouraged to “count every blessing” and “be grateful in all things.” Not only is gratitude good for the soul but it’s also a commandment from God.    We know that not everyone expresses gratitude or love in the same way. So expressing gratitude might be different for you than how it is expressed in this episode. David clearly DOES NOT like to express intimate gratitude when he has a full scene watching him. Mimi and Justin express their love differently and it’s great for them! Whatever way you express your thanks this, we challenge you to DO IT TODAY! Addict to Convert: Carli's Story

In today's episode, Carli joins us to talk about her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church).    Carli has lived all over the USA but claims New York as her hometown. Because Carli had a somewhat unstable childhood, she learned to take care of herself at a very early age. She'd be independent and eventually began using drugs and alcohol to keep her going.    After a series of difficult events, Carli noticed a man at work who was very happy and family oriented. She wanted what she had. When she heard that he was a member of the LDS Church, she knew she wanted some part of the Church. Little did she now that she had more difficult trials around the corner and quickly learned how much she needed the gospel of Jesus Christ in her life. Who is Nephi in the Book of Mormon??

If you’ve ever read the first page of the Book of Mormon, you’ve heard of the name ‘Nephi.’ He’s the first person introduced (by himself, in fact 😂) in first verse of the book! But who really was he? And why should you know his name?    The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church or LDS church) regards the Book of Mormon as sacred text, like the Bible. The Book of Mormon is called “Another Testament of Jesus Christ” because it does just that— testifies of Jesus and his coming to the Americas. Are Mormon Temple ceremonies stolen from the Masons?

Today's episode of Saints Unscripted is different than usual... David does a Skype video call with Brett McDonald who has his own YouTube channel called LDS Truth Claims.   David and Brett talk about the criticisms between Joseph Smith and Freemasonry. Lots of critics like to point at the similarities between the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint's temple ceremonies and freemasonry. David and Brett go back and forth talking about these criticisms and determine how to go about understanding their similarities. Just because some things have some similarities does not mean they are the same, or that Joseph was a false prophet because of them. Living with Bipolar Disorder

In this episode, Hannah talks to us about mental illness. She has been living with bi-polar disorder for many years. She talks about the stigma behind bi-polar and other mental illnesses, as well as how to navigate life while also dealing with mental illness.    Justin also talks about his struggle with depression and emphasizes how important it is to get professional help, as also strongly suggested by Jeffrey R. Holland who recently gave a talk on mental illness. Hannah's biggest piece of advice to those struggling with mental illness is to look for help. Don't give up on finding the right therapist and medication for you. It's going to be okay. ❤ Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/saintsunscripted

Bad leaders of the Church…

**Almost all leaders (clergy) in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are unpaid and work normal jobs.**    This episode is TOUGH. First and foremost, we want to emphasize that we abhor inappropriate conduct from ANY leader in the Church, regardless of position in the Church. As Justin says in this episode, if you’ve ever been sexually or physically abused by a leader (or anyone, for that matter), don’t be afraid to speak up! Such leaders should not be in positions of leadership.    While there are extreme cases of misconduct, there are also cases of leaders making comments that are offensive or inappropriate. Such comments may draw us away from the Church and the feelings are REAL! Justin and Taylor share their experiences in being hurt by different comments from Church leaders and what they felt, how they acted, and what it means for them moving forward.    We are so sad when anyone is offended by church leaders, by us, or by anyone in the Church. We hope that such things can be discussed and resolved! Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/saintsunscripted

What my Mormon mission was ACTUALLY like…

If you’re preparing to serve a mission, recently returned home from a mission, or want to know about missionaries, this episode is for YOU!  In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church), many young adults choose to serve a mission for the Church. (Check out the videos below for more information on LDS missions:)) It may sound like fun to be on your own in a new city (and sometimes country), teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. But what are the challenges? Do missionaries ever want to go home?   In this episode, Taylor and Sam talk about what it’s like to be a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ. They talk about the expectations, the rules, and how it feels to frequently fall short. They are completely transparent about being a missionary!
