Fostering racial unity in the Church | with Wain

We are thrilled to have Wain on the show today! Wain Myers wrote a remarkable book (linked below) and was a stellar leader of Genesis Group. Today he joins us to talk about how leaders of the LDS Church (and members at-large) can change the environment toward greater inclusion for Black members of the Church (otherwise known as the Mormon Church). Wain has seen much pain and struggle among his fellow Black members of the church but says such pain isn't new and should be addressed immediately. He also talks about the importance of taking care of the people closest to you first (such as the Black members IN the church) before trying to build connections when your home isn't stable. His thoughts are equally powerful and hopeful. From this episode, we hope you gain insight as to what you can do to better build relationships with those around you and address the difficult thing right as they come up. Check out Wain's book! I told the LDS missionaries I didn't want baptism | with Taylor

We LOVE conversion stories, if you haven’t noticed already ;) Today’s interview with Taylor was so touching and happy. Taylor shared her conversion story to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church) and how her mental health has been while she embarks on this new journey.  When Taylor was young, she didn’t have much religious background. One summer, she decided to visit her cousins (who were members of the LDS Church) and began talking to the missionaries. She told the missionaries she didn’t want to get baptized but then something changed. Watch the video to learn more!!   Taylor also shares how mental health challenges have affected her during her life, to which Justin relates. Together, they talk about why they choose to go to church despite many difficulties that may come.
