Motherhood is full and glorious - but also filled with trials and suffering. If we don't understand the purpose of our motherhood, we will get lost in everyday difficulties and no way to reclaim perspective.  That's what I discuss today with September McCarthy, mother of 10 and homeschool mama. She has a unique perspective of generational motherhood with children spanning from age 28 to 8 years old. She has grandchildren and children of her own still in her home, affording her the perspective of a multi-generational mother and seeing how unique and beautiful our purpose is in God's kingdom. She shares so much wisdom and encouragement for those of us in the trenches. The murder of George Floyd on May 25 sent the United States into a nationwide cultural discussion on racism and justice.  There are many voices offering many solutions to the problems that ail society. But how do we look at this issue as Christians? What answer does the Bible have for the sin and evil we see in society in both individuals and our systems of government?  How do we respond as Christians to the call of the world to "divest of our whiteness" and embrace the narrative offered by Critical Race Theory that so many (including many Christians) are letting guide the discussion? Social justice is no doubt a relevant and hot topic today. Should Christians become "social justice warriors"? Is this biblical? What is justice as the bible defines it and what is our role in bringing it about in the world? Pornography is the most destructive force we are facing today - and by and large? We AREN'T TALKING ABOUT IT. (Excuse me for yelling, this is kind of a big deal.)  Hearts are being darkened by evil, brains are being rewired by overstimulation and marriages are being destroyed. Here's some stats for you: 79% of Christian men who attend evangelical church regularly use porn. 55% of Christian men look at it monthly and 1 in 10 look at it daily. But it's NOT JUST MEN - the fastest growing user group is Women. The biggest user group is 12-17 year olds. 1 out of 10 porn users is under the age of 10.  BUT hold on --  there is hope, healing and restoration. There is forgiveness through Christ and we can walk in the light, free of shame and deception.
