Episode 2 gave me so much more hope for this season! And honestly, that was mainly thanks to Whitney. When Meredith couldn't fully bring it during their charcuterie scene, Whitney took it to the finish line and came right out and said Lisa slept with a wealthy Utah man in exchange for his investment. Later Whitney gave us REALNESS with that breakdown over her suppressed childhood memories! We deserved that season finale, didn't we? Never did I ever think that we would get something so fantastic! As soon as Paige suggested Craig do a seating chart to "control the chaos" and Craig refused saying "it'll be fine"... we knew it wouldn't be fine. I really can't believe we have one more episode to endure before we get to the reunion, BUT next week is looking like the kind of content we have been asking for all season. Kyle is going to call out Rinna and Erika for the obvious tactical takedown of Kathy, and we are here for that!Pia and I discuss how much Rinna underestimated Kathy's level of accountability and how that miscalculation led to one of the most embarrassing scenes in housewives history. I personally hated that they wasted airtime with Sutton and Erika eating their Popeye's because it was truly pointless and only made Sutton look weak.Since we must suffer through one more episode, I'm happy that it's at least going to be more interesting than the usual BH antics. I never thought Todd would end up being the highlight of Part 3, but here we are! It certainly wasn't "What did I say" Sheree! Or Marlo with her phony redemption arc. The husbands definitely delivered some entertainment (petition to request Todd show up wildly hungover and sleep deprived to every reunion moving forward). Drew and Sheree stay entertaining adversaries. Kenya took it easy after her segment with Marlo was over. Kandi stayed true to herself. And Sanya... was there.There was no big moment in this entire Season 14 reunion. Nothing will make it go down in the history books. The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist provided no real clarity on what "actually" happened because everyone's stories contradicted the other's BUT it was fun to drag 90% of them for 2.5 hours!In addition to the recap, I also touch on the social media drama surrounding this project. Turning Shep's toxic fighting style into a drinking game is so on brand for Southern Charm. What's crazy is that in all the 7 years this show has been on, we've never seen Shep in a relationship. He's, umm, terrifying. The whispering in Taylor's ear took it to a place I didn't know it could go. Then she told him to pray and I was more scared than I've ever been for a relationship.Austen continues to bring the comedy, Craig continues to veil his emotional abuse as emotional intelligence, and Venita hit me with a haymaker at the end. I'm sure the Craig lovers will be on her side for how she came to his defense, but it didn't work for me. Rinna delivered one of the funniest performances of her acting career in that episode. If it was intended to be taken seriously, well then.........Erika, Rinna, and Dorit are poorly executing a strategic take down of Kathy. Should Kathy talk about her meltdown? Sure. I'm interested to know why she was upset. But as soon as Rinna starts acting shocked and traumatized by what Kathy did, Pia and I instinctively rush to protect Kathy from the evil wrath of Lisa's vortex of lies.This episode of the pod is a lot of over dramatized reenactments of Erika and Rinna's over dramatized acting mixed with a heavy dragging of Kyle and a sprinkle of disappointment in Dorit. We do also hold our girl Garcelle accountable, but she takes ownership like a queen so we don't have to do too much.*I mentioned a reality show in this episode that is worth watching - House of Ho on HBO. It's only 7 episodes, and the second season just aired this month. I have only seen the first season so I am super pumped to check out season 2!
