Julia Andrews on The Art of Feminine Selling™

Julia Andrews is the founder and creator of The Art of Feminine Selling™, a sales methodology that highlights empathy and vulnerability as a strength with an emphasis on mindset and authenticity to self.  She is a sales coach and a sales-team strategist who’s sold over $215M in sales. She supports women to not be afraid of selling and teaches them how to achieve the financial success they envision for themselves. We discuss her interesting journey into the world of sales without speaking a word of English and what you need to know in order to enjoy the sales process as a female entrepreneur, and more. The show notes are at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/045   WE DISCUSS: How she got into sales selling high end knives when she didn’t speak English Why she considers Sales to be her second language instead of English How necessity to help her single mother gave her the courage and resilience to earn an income and master the art of sales The fundamental sales techniques she learned selling knives, including not to take “no” personally and why you need to sell to “qualified buyers”. How seeing someone else achieve success shows you what is possible for yourself. Julia’s definition of sales “How can I be a conduit for someone to help them elevate their life in anyway you can.” Selling is about helping the people who gravitates towards you and listening well to helping them along the way.  It isn’t about convincing someone. How you need to have a serving heart and to figure out if there is the right fit. Your mind will give you what you want.  If you want to focus on all of the negatives your mind will give you that.  If you want something to work, it will come to you.  Look at obstacles as  way to course correct. Follow-up is key – 50% of the sales are done in the follow-up. Women don’t charge enough because of shame and guilt of asking for more money.  Feeling like I’m “not enough” may prevent you to charge for your value. JULIA’S 3 BEST TIPS FOR LIVING A GOOD LIFE: Honor your body and everything that you love. Accept yourself for your uniqueness. “Life is not a dress rehearsal, so live it fully.” – Source Attributed to many different people. Tamsen is also the executive producer and host of Broadway Profiles, Changemakers, and a three-time author. With more than two decades of experience, she has covered local, national and international stories including Hurricane Sandy, the Metro North train derailment, the London bombings and the war on terror. We do a deep dive into the valuable tips she shares in her most recent book: “The New Single: Finding, Fixing and Falling Back In Love With Yourself After a Break-up or Divorce.” It is a motivational roadmap to rediscovering your power and living your best life. The show notes are at https://thegoodlifecoach.com/044   WE DISCUSS: She wrote this book as a roadmap for herself It took her a year to feel balanced again and she realized the first 90 days were key. She began removing obstacles.  She had to figure out who she was.  She was a wife and now was a single woman.  She surveyed the surroundings in order to survive. The book is about figuring out who you are again. Planning your time and being organized is essential. Be the architect of your life. Tamsen decluttered her apartment.  She didn’t leave her home – so she re-did the bedroom, kitchen, and closets.  Repainted furniture.  She got rid of anything that didn’t serve her or reminded her of him. She made the space feel like her instead. She ended up in $100,000 worth of debt and we discuss how she got out. How to stop looking for “the one more thing”.  Looking for closure.  One more sentence.  One more question. The importance of talking with friends and finding support through a therapist and other resources. And so much more… TAMSEN’S 3 BEST TIPS FOR LIVING A GOOD LIFE: Make peace with the past – stop misremembering it and start romancing the future.  Decide what you want and go after that.  Write it down to set a roadmap. Use vision boards. Live your someday, today. Michele Lamoureux: Top Ten Tips For My 20-Something Self. A Love Letter.

Hi Lovely, How is life treating you? I've been thinking of you and thought I'd send a note to remind you of a few key things to make your life’s journey a little smoother. Here's my TOP TEN LIST: 1. Love yourself. This is the key to everything good in your life. It may sound over simplistic but the actual practice of self-love is a lifetime practice. You came from love and are an expression of love. So remember to be loving to yourself every day — no matter what. Promise? When those “inner voices” come in with doubt to tell you that you aren’t enough, tell them firmly they are mistaken. You ARE worthy of a magnificent, healthy, and abundant life! When you know that to be true, you only allow what’s in your highest good to come into your life. That's what we all deserve. 2. Make pleasure a priority. Pursue the things that light YOU up! Don’t put your passions and interests to the side. They are your roadmap to happiness. You deserve to be happy, and only you know how to make that happen…so make it happen. Don't get distracted by other people's agendas or how they want you to spend your time. 3. Stand firmly in who you are like a wise old tree with its deep roots. The world will always have an opinion about what you should be and how you should see yourself, so remember this is your one shot at life and you don’t have time to waste people pleasing and playing small. 4. Don't settle for a partner who doesn't honor you. When you are in a relationship, it isn’t a daily roller coaster ride. You don’t have to question whether the one you love is committed to the relationship, because you just know. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have to work on your relationship (all great love requires communication and commitment). It does mean that if your partner isn’t treating you with the respect you deserve, then it’s time to move on. Great love does exist! This goes for friendships too. Let go of the toxic people in your life and surround yourself with a tribe of people who love you as you are. 5. Life has its seasons. Sometimes we are in a season where everything flows, and other times it is as if the universe wants to see how much you can handle. Ride the waves with grace knowing there will always be a peaceful shore ready to greet you in time — so keep the faith! 6. Find joy in the little things. Look for the humor in life and laugh every day just like when you were a little girl. Let your inner child illuminate your path.  7. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. At times we need a helping hand, and it takes strength to admit when we don’t have the answers and need guidance or a shoulder to lean on.  8. Remember that you are here for a special reason. You have unique gifts that you are meant to share. You are living your "purpose"when you use those special talents in a way that brings you joy. There are no rules about how to express your gifts. Think about being in service and how you can help and doors will open. Pursue what’s whispering in your heart. You want to look back on your life and think, “YESSSS, I lived an awesome life!” 9. Don’t wait for permission to go for your dreams and desires. Most people don’t understand the vision you have for your life, so you have to trust in yourself and your inner knowing and take that first step. Dream big and often! It feels like you have all of the time in the world, but you don’t. Make your dreams a priority and take inspired action every day. You’ll thank me for this one later. ;) 10. Appreciate your beauty. Be grateful for your youth, your skin, your body, and your mind. Treat your body with respect - and nourish it. When you look back you’ll realize just how beautiful you were, so don’t wait twenty years to recognize the goddess that you are today. Enjoy each day, stay present, and be grateful for this gift of life and the gift of you. Xoxo, Your 40-Something Self
