The danger of staging a UX Theater With Tanya Snook | Good Morning UX
Are we all just putting on a show? A few years ago, Tanya Snook coined the phrase UX Theatre to describe when we are just acting like we’re doing user-centred design rather than actually doing it.
UX design is a young field, and as such, new ideas are often explored and tested. However, this can also lead to problems when these experiments are not carefully thought out and staged. This can have unintended consequences that can damage the UX design process and even lead to layoffs. As UX designers become more mature, they should be aware of the dangers of staging a UX theater and ensure their experiments are well-planned and executed to avoid any negative consequences.
We need to learn how to recognize UX theatre, and how to transition from just acting to actually doing. We also look into the crucial part designing your design process has to play and how to leverage learning while doing.
This show will pass through some questions like:
What, in fact, is the theater of ux? The organization Just creates a fake speech and vision, or they perhaps don’t know how to talk or use the UX?
Will everyone involved have this awareness?
The creation of a way of acting and thinking. Isn’t this possible from just the right designer?
For this, we invited Tanya Snook a user experience designer who focuses on citizen and employee experiences for the Government of Canada. She designs end-to-end services, content and applications with the goal of balancing the needs of citizens with those of the government staff who deliver services. She is a founder and co-chair of CanUX, Canada’s premiere user experience conference.

The past year we decided to start this new project called Good Morning UX, an extension of another show called Bom Dia UX, with such special-international guests. Actually, we invited a lot of professionals who are references for us and that have so much history in our industry.

What is wrong with the average solution approach? With Indi Young | Good Morning UX
We used to work with this approach of average behavior and we have been building a solution that likely works for some people, guessing that it is enough. Or the right way to do it. Even the way of mental model works with a kind of average people mindset in certain situations.
There's been a vast movement to increase a design vision within companies and projects, but, It seems that the industry doesn't know how to handle this User experience subject exactly. And how to run about the Designer itself. We talk a lot about empathy in UX. But unfortunately, we talk so much that we almost forget the real meaning, and it seems that we create a poetic layer far from reality.
This show will pass through some questions like:
How we can change, or shift, this model of building digital products?
How much is finding patterns important for our work as designers?
What is the power of listening to break this average approach?
How can we handle and talk more about empathy without distancing ourselves from the day-to-day business, delivery, and projects within companies?
What do we have to do to help companies understand how to use the design?
For this, we invited Indi Young an independent researcher who teaches practitioners a life-changing approach to Listening deeply, building cognitive empathy over time, and properly handling qualitative data analysis. She helps teams with person-focused research, design strategy, interaction flow, communications, and information architecture. She wrote a few books, speak frequently, and always makes ways for you to join my courses no matter what your circumstances.

What is the importance of knowing ourselves for our careers? With Jason Mesut | Good Morning UX
Today we have a wide range of activities, types of company and so on. And we can see how the market and the design has changed over the last 10 years very quickly.
Because that we have seen how valuable it is for designers to self-reflect on who they are, and project the areas in which they feel like they should develop. Whether that’s within, or beyond the context of the organization in which they work. And this is so true specially for designer who wnat to be a good leaders.
Jason Mesut developed a visual frameworks for design teams, leaders and designers to map their skills and define their future professional development. Also include new design leader-specific tools that Martina and Jason have been working on over the past 18 months.
He believes using these visual frameworks can help you better understand and articulate what you have to offer, what your organisation needs and where you can invest in your own self-development over the coming years.
This show will pass through some questions like:
How are we today as professionals in the design discipline in the market in general?
Some of these tips here from the search for focus and finding yourself.
How is the importance, for the professional, keep looking for know themself each day more?
What is the value, the real value, of these visual frameworks tools?
For this, we invited Jason Mesut, founder of Resonant Design and Innovation, focused on the design of products and services that fuse the physical and the digital. He also runs monthly events for the London chapter of the Interaction Design Association (IxDA) where he invites speakers and attendees to discuss the future of design across digital and physical. Build and identify what means design and leadership with Wendy Johansson | Good Morning UX
Designers are in demand more than ever and we need to be creative in how we solve our hiring challenges. Built entry-level design programs with big companies and at early-stage startups – and how you can build the next generation of design talent at your company - is essential.
As designers, we’re always looking to create a high level of design literacy across our organizations, but how do this in a way that creates its own momentum?
For this, we invited Wendy Johansson, a global Product Experience leader and entrepreneur who builds equitable teams and products. She is currently the co-founder and Chief Product Experience Officer of MiSalud Health, a healthtech company closing the health equity gap for Hispanics in the United States. Prior to that, she built Amazon's UX Apprentice program, was Global Vice President of Experience at Publicis Sapient, and co-founded Wizeline, a global product development company.
For this, we invited Wendy Johansson a founder, entrepreneur, and Product Experience leader who has spent her career building equitable teams, products, and environments in tech. Wendy has previously co-founded and exited Wizeline a global product development company, built a diverse and inclusive UX Apprentice program at Amazon, led a global team of designers as Global VP of Experience at Publicis Sapient, and built her early career as a UX leader at successful early-stage startups.

The future challenge for products with good experience, with Marty Cagan | Good Morning UX
The book Inspired was a significant change for the market. First, everyone wanted to apply every detail to the day-to-day of the company. Usually, when some companies discover the book, they try to use the entire vision.
The book inspired has been a reference for the product market, especially digital, for a long time, including impacting the design world. We can cite, in a way, the emergence or rebirth and resignification of the term Product design, for example.
But here comes the sad part: it didn't work out as expected in some of these cases. You may have seen this globally, in various possibilities and sizes. For the most part, we can you see some problems of culture, maturity, and adaptation to the ideal context.
And then we have a new book, with Chris Jones, Empowered. A kind of compliment that somehow broke the ideal of leadership's verticality, command, and order.
This show will pass through some questions like:
Does the product vision work in any market?
Or rather, is it suitable for any company?
Does the term Product design change the performance of what we knew as UX design?
For this, we invited Marty Cagan a founder and partner at Silicon Valley Product Group, and former product leader at eBay, Netscape, and HP. Author of INSPIRED and EMPOWERED. He held executive product positions at eBay, Netscape, Continuous, and HP; start-ups, and Fortune 500. He also is specialized in defining successful products, building effective product teams, and improving product development processes.

Do UX people need to know more about product management? With Christian Crumlish | Good Morning UX
As designers, sometimes we want to swap from one role to another. User Experience is arguably the best foundation for becoming a Product Manager, but it will only get you part of the way there.
“More and more, designers are grappling with product management—as a peer discipline, as the job title of a boss or teammate, and as a future career destination.”
User experience designers and researchers are wrestling with product management or simply wondering exactly what it entails.
This show will pass through some questions like:
is natural the transition from design to product management?
What is the designer´s motivation to want to be a product manager?
What are the common things and overlapping responsibilities between design and product?
Why do you think is important for a designer to know about product management?
For this, we invited Christian Crumlish an author of the bestselling "Product Management for UX People: From Designing to Thriving in a Product World", "The Internet for Busy People" and "The Power of Many", and co-author of "Designing Social Interfaces". He is a product and UX leadership consultant at Design in Product, where he also hosts a product/UX community. He is currently leading the product management of covid19.ca.gov and consulting on govtech product practices with California's Office of Digital Innovation.

Design for a better world with With Donald Norman | Good Morning UX
The world is a mess. Our dire predicament, from collapsing social structures to the climate crisis, has been millennia in the making and can be traced back to the erroneous belief that the earth's resources are infinite.
From racial equity to climate change, Norman says that many designers don’t interpret certain problems as design problems when they should.
“The challenge is to use the principles of human-centered design to produce positive results, products that enhance lives and add to our pleasure and enjoyment. The goal is to produce a great product, one that is successful, and that customers love. It can be done.” — Don Norman
Where once industrial designers focused primarily on form and function, materials and manufacturing, today's issues are far more complex and challenging. As a result, the skills of the designer are not well suited for modern times. New skills are required, especially for such areas as interaction, experience, and service design.
This show will pass through some questions like:
Doe this new approach to be focused on the product, calling ourselves as product designers, created a kind of gap between the focus on the user?
What is our next step looking from a future perspective of the industry making design part of this?
What are the biggest problems in design education nowadays?
What is the value of education?
For this, we invited Donald Norman the co-founder and Principal Emeritus of Nielsen Norman Group. Norman's formal education is in Electrical Engineering and Psychology. He has served as a faculty member at Harvard, the University of California, San Diego, Northwestern, and KAIST (South Korea). He has also worked in the industry as a VP at Apple and an executive at HP and a startup.

What is UX strategy and how apply it? With Jared Spool | Good Morning UX
As designers, we have been talking a lot about strategy, maturity, and culture. All these things need to be discussed and worked but before them, we need to discuss the growth, and maturity, of the UX industry or the digital product industry.
This maturity can impact our point of view when we talk about the difference between UX strategy and UX tactics. The strategy is usually defined by the leader, but we want to stay focused on the application or operationalization of this strategy as well.
This show will pass through some questions like:
Are we showing the real impact we can deliver, as designers?
What is the most challenging thing for designers in companies?
Can the classic team of one designer bring a strategic view to the company?
What are the most important or interesting Metrics for experience?
For this, we invited Jared Spool a legendary professional from this digital industry, who has been working to uncover what it takes to drive organizations to deliver the best-designed products and services. He is an American writer, researcher, speaker, educator, and expert on usability, software, and design topics. He also runs the foremost school for user experience design focused on UX Design strategy, Design, User experience, Usability, user interface design, and education.
