CORNISH SOCCER talks to David Bray - another CORNISH SOCCER NOSTALGIA podcast
David has been involved with the Cornwall FA since 1986.
We hear how his joining the Cornwall FA came about along with his subsequent role as Secretary of the Youth Committee and how things have developed in the past 30 or so years.
Before that he was also founder member of Riviera Coasters FC ( St.Austell ) in 1967 and we touch on this as well as his general views about local football.
David's comments are his own in this interview and he is not speaking on behalf of the Cornwall FA.

"There's something special about the FA Vase!"
THE VASE NEVER DISAPPOINTS!
Picture the scene if you can, Falmouth Town two goals down with barely seconds remaining when they get a lifeline for what surely was only going to be a consolation goal at best!
Luke Brabyn made no mistake from the penalty spot and into added on time.
Time for everything, including the kitchen sink, to be thrown at the Longlevens goal. A cross comes in from the right and while flooring one of his team-mates, the visitors goalkeeper on the edge of his penalty area punches the ball away with the ball bouncing towards Jack Webber.
On the half-volley Jack hits the ball back towards goal with the F-Troop doing what they can behind that goal to suck the ball into the back of the net!
Everyone in the ground are on their feet applauding an absolute amazing equaliser and thinking 'could the comeback be completed with a winner?'
Falmouth's James Miller sums it up "there's something special about the FA Vase!"
(Apologies about the quality of the sound on this clip, but I think you get the message!)

RAPPO & DEACS, Series 2, Episode 12 Friday, October 18 2019
RAPPO & DEACS, Series 2, Episode 12 Friday, October 18 2019
It’s a slightly different Friday Fix podcast this week as Rappo is away on holiday at the moment! Yes, in the football season!!
There’s still plenty to talk about of course, even without the “Bet of the Week” and the Predictions.
The St Piran League is still discussed with St Austell’s manager Mark Smith, while its congratulations to Helston Athletic’s U-18s who have reached the First Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup after beating Brockenhurst on Monday and so we hear from co-manager Stu Giles.
Dave Bartlam, a player, Trelawny League officer and referee, talks about the last of those three roles and the fact that there is a serious shortage at the moment.
What a result Falmouth Town picked-up at Helston last Saturday in the FA Vase and James Ward was there to witness it. The current Truro City defender is of course a former Falmouth Town player.
A striker is great form at the moment is Ryan Richards who has scored seven in his last two games – which makes the player more than worthy of a catch-up of course with the Friday Fix!
Our resident guests Cam Weldon and Phil Hiscox keep us up to date with Truro City and the Kitchen Kit Ltd South West Peninsula League respectively and Phil goes over what is happening at the end of the season with regards to promotion.
As usual, get in touch by either email davedeacon@cornishsoccer.info or twitter @soccerpodcast if you have any ideas or suggestions as to what you would like to hear on the weekly podcast. CORNISH SOCCER is also on Facebook.
