This year I attended my first ever Social Media Marketing World in San Diego, California. It was not quite the smooth ride I expected (I try really hard to focus on the actual event and not the 40 hours it took me to get there due to airlines, covid-struck Heathrow and not very helpful customerservice staff)....   Some great connections,  some great eating, and some really good speakers...   maybe if they moved it to the east of the US, I'd be back next year!

This week on the podcast - three things to do on LinkedIn, and three things NOT to do.   1 - stop connecting without a message - take the time to write to someone and say WHY you want to connect with them 2. - Do not scrape emails from LinkedIn and add people to your email newsletter without permission 3. Don't neglect your personal profile - take a moment to look at your About Summary - is it up to date and would it entice me to want to have a chat with you about your business?   What you can do: 1.  Start posting ONCE a week on your profile - let's hear from you 2. Connect with two to three people per day for the next four weeks with a message and start building up a good network around you 3. How to verify your employees on your LinkedIn Company Pages and why you should. If you have a  Company Page on LinkedIn you now have the ability to verify those employees so that they can acess the My Company tab.  This tab is only available to companies with more than 10 member of staff registered with the company on LinkedIn.   Find out more about the tab, the verification and see if it is a good fit for you and your business on LinkedIn.
