Jake Bates is a kicker for the Detroit Lions in the NFL. He was undrafted out of the University of Arkansas in 2023 and signed with the Houston Texans before being released after in the preseason. In early 2024, he signed with the Michigan Panthers of the UFL and was selected to the All-UFL team before signing with the Lions in June. In Week 7 of the 2024 season, Bates was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after kicking the game-winning 44 yard field goal to help Detroit beat Minnesota. In Week 10, Bates kicked a 58-yard field goal against Houston to tie the game late and hit a 52-yard game-winning field goal to help the Lions to a win over the Texans. Clyde Christensen has been a football coach for more than 40 years in the NFL and college. His NFL coaching stops have included Tampa Bay (1996-2001), Indianapolis (2002-15), Miami (2016-18) and a return to Tampa (2019-22). He has coached in three Super Bowls, winning two (with the 2006 Colts and 2020 Buccaneers). Currently, he is serving at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina, where he is the football team’s senior advisor to the head coach. Taliyah Brooks is a track and field athlete with Team USA. At the 2024 United States Olympic Track and Field Trials in Eugene, Oregon, Brooks finished third in the heptathlon with a career-best 6.408 points and qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. In college at Arkansas, Brooks won the pentathlon at the 2018 NCAA Division 1 championships. Shaun Dolac is a linebacker for the University at Buffalo. In high school at West Seneca East Senior High, he was the Buffalo News Player of the Year and rushed for a school-record 1,997 yards on offense and a school-record 157 tackles on defense. After being offered a full-ride scholarship to play lacrosse, Dolac chose to pursue football and join Buffalo as a preferred walk-on. In 2022, he led the Mid-American Conference in tackles (148) and ranked second in the nation. In 2024, he is currently leading the nation in tackles (159) and was named a mid-season All-American by CBS Sports.
