He is particularly interested these days in the imago Dei, the idea that humans were created in the image of God and what that means for humanity. Brian and Chad unpack emotional intelligence, a key skill for coaches. Emotional intelligence has four aspects - aware of your own emotions, managing your own emotions, aware of other people's emotions, and adapting how you show up.

This week Brian interviews Rick Richardson, Professor of Evangelism and Leadership at Wheaton College, Director of Wheaton College Billy Graham Center Research Institute, and Director of the Church Evangelism Initiative.    Rick is the author of You Found Me: New Research on How Unchurched Nones, Millennials, and Irreligious Are Surprisingly Open to Christian Faith   Rick sees how coaching is essential to the church to help her fulfill her potential.   Check out this statistic from Rick's work with the Church Evangelism Initiative: Without coaching, they were seeing 10% success. Adding coaching and changing nothing else, success jumped to 50%. Now to go higher, they are adding a heavier coaching element.
