Welcome to Fear Less February!! We’re focusing the month of February on the topic of Fear and taking continuing to take pioneering action throughout it. The month is geared towards transformation: transforming as individuals, as leaders, as teams, as communities, and as cultures. There’s an important distinction that applies for us Pianeers throughout the month, which will be explored more thoroughly as days go by. Distinction: “FEAR LESS vs FEARLESS” Fear as an emotion and feeling is incredibly powerful. As Pioneer leaders, one of our goals is leveraging ALL of us to create impact, income, and influence. So we don’t want to cut fear out completely. Get ready for an experience that is specifically geared towards helping you play a bigger / different game now rather than later. CONTEXT: WE SPEAK OUR WORLD INTO EXISTENCE Powerful communication is a hallmark skill for Pioneer Leaders. Your voice "speaks" to your vision, to who you are and what you stand for, and to how you choose to create a model of your future in the present. Through our language, when we speak (write,sing, etc) something we give it life. From there, it shapes our present which shapes our future. TO FIND IMPLIES SOMETHING IS LOST... What’s been coming up with my clients is language around "finding" the voice. This suggests that it’s something external and out of their grasp. It’s also a commonly used phrase, so it leads to common results. TO FREE ACKNOWLEDGES IT WAS ALWAYS YOURS TO BEGIN WITH I choose the distinction of "Freeing" your voice to restore power and ownership back to you immediately. You already have your voice. It’s within you and has always been. We’ve just learned how to trap it within a cage of convention that prevents that voice from being let loose on the world - even if you know exactly what it is you’d want to be saying (writing, creating, painting, etc). FREEING YOU VOICE CAN HAPPEN IN AN INSTANT The work of a Pioneer leader is simply to let that voice free. Heads up: when first unleashed it will likely be raw. That is OK and just part of the process. As you free it up more and more, you’ll continue to refine it. And from there, once you have tamed your free voice, you can evolve it and let it grow. There’s more coming to mind, and I choose to stop here.
