Dr. Justin Puder is a licensed psychologist who owns a private practice in south Florida. He creates content on Instagram and TikTok under the handle @amoderntherapist with the aim of reducing stigma surrounding mental health and give his followers practical ways to improve their mental health. Dr. J also has two Podcasts "Drop in with Dr. J" and "Welcome to Group Therapy" where he speaks on a wide array of mental health topics and answers mental health questions from Instagram each episode.In this episode, Dr. J shares his experience with going to therapy for the first time and his journey in the field. Alma Zaragoza-Petty, PhD, is a Mexicana social justice advocate and scholar who teaches equity to create change.Born in Los Angeles but raised in Acapulco, Mexico, for much of her childhood, she is the daughter of immigrant parents and a first-generation high school and college graduate. Zaragoza-Petty has a master's degree in counseling and a doctorate in education and has worked in higher education for more than twenty years.She has served as an academic advisor, as a professor, and in research and evaluation for a nonprofit organization.
