Bitcoin Rapid-Fire

In the bitcoin space we often discuss the many insidious impacts of being on a 'fiat' money standard. We also look to previous periods in which societies used 'sound money', to see what elements of culture, art, business etc. might have been impacted by the difference in monetary standard. As bitcoin develops, it's becoming clear that the change in time preference that it inspires in many (a changed relationship to time and work), is causing a re-emergence of appreciation for high-quality, highly-skilled, long-lasting, beauty-centric architecture and construction. The American College of Building Arts is taking a unique approach to education, teaching both the theory/philosophy, and the traditional methods required to create graduates who are highly-skilled craftsmen. Nik Bhatia is the author of the new book 'Layered Money: From Gold and Dollars, to Bitcoin and Central Bank Digital Currencies'.  In the book, Nik explores the history of our current financial system, and details the various layers which comprise it. He then analyzes bitcoin through a 'layered money' lens, and makes the case for why he believes it will evolve in to the future reserve currency of the world. Michael Krieger is the creator and editor of the financial, economic, political and cultural blog, libertyblitzkrieg.com. He is also a long-time proponent of bitcoin.   Michael has been highly critical of policy measures enacted during the pandemic, and has been vocal in expressing his concern regarding potential future measures that further impinge on individual rights and freedoms. He has also recently come to appreciate the 'bitcoin pleb culture', and will be collaborating with a group of passionate bitcoiners (including myself), to publish a book on the subject, hopefully out in summer 2021. I first came across Dylan on twitter, where I had been enjoying his takes on bitcoin, economics, sovereignty, politics and related topics. My original guest today had to cancel, so I reached into the Twitterverse to see if anyone wanted to jump in for an impromptu chat.
