Biden picked Harris, a historic choice, out of 11 women total to be his running mate for the 2020 presidential campaign. If elected, Harris would be the first women to be Vice President of the United States. Harris would also be the first African American and Indian American elected to be Vice President of the United States. Biden and Harris were once rivals, when they were both running to be the Democratic candidate for the 2020 presidential election.
Harris is to give her acceptance speech at the Democratic National Committee Convention next week.
