The United States tops 5.5 million coronavirus cases with more than 172,000 deaths. A new CNN poll says that 68 percent of Americans are embarrassed by the United States coronavirus response. The poll also says that 56 percent of people would try to get a coronavirus vaccine. This number is down from 66 percent in May. Fauci says that "until you prove it's safe and effective, you really don't want to be talking about having a vaccine." Coronavirus cases have been confirmed at colleges in at least eight states. White House testing Czar says that coronavirus cases could "turn around very quickly if we're not careful." Anderson Cooper fills in for Wolf Blitzer.  Biden picks Sen. Kamala Harris as his running mate. Biden and Harris are to appear for the first time as running mates tomorrow, in Wilmington, Delaware. Biden picked Harris, a historic choice, out of 11 women total to be his running mate for the 2020 presidential campaign. If elected, Harris would be the first women to be Vice President of the United States. Harris would also be the first African American and Indian American elected to be Vice President of the United States. Coronavirus cases nearing 20 million worldwide. 25 percent of all coronavirus cases are in the United States where the death toll now tops 163,000. Experts are saying that there is "no way" the Moderna vaccine will be ready by election day as Trump suggests. The FDA chief says that the agency will "not cut corners" to approve a Covid-19 vaccine.
