Biden: Transition is "Well Under Way," Calls Trump's Refusal to Concede "An Embarrassment""
The Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, is refusing to acknowledge United States President-elect Joe Biden's win. On Tuesday, while speaking at the State Department, Pompeo said in part, "there will be a smooth transition to a second Trump administration."
Sources tell CNN, White House officials are advising agencies to prepare their budgets as if Trump won the election.
United States President-elect Joe Biden projected confidence about his transition to the White House, despite Donald Trump's refusal to concede. Biden called Trump's actions after the election an "embarrassment." He also told reporters in Delaware that he does not see a need for legal action.
Biden said he has not yet spoken to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Kentucky. However, Biden says he's confident he will do so in the near future.
Dr. Anthony Fauci says a Covid-19 vaccine may be widely available by the end of April next year. The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases also told CNN's Jake Tapper that the coronavirus pandemic could get worse.
Georgia's Secretary of State, Brad Raffensperger, has shot down Republican senators' calls for his resignation. Biden Prepares for Presidency While Trump Denies Loss
President-elect Joe Biden is preparing to assume his role as the new commander in chief. The current President, Donald Trump, however, appears to still be in denial refusing to concede.
Biden will take the Oath of Office in the inauguration in 73 days.
To win the presidency, the nominee needs at least 270 votes. Currently, the president-elect is projected to win at least 279 votes and that number could rise. Alaska, Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina remain too close to call.
Former President George W. Bush has congratulated Biden. On Sunday, Bush released a statement saying in part that he extended his congratulations and thanked him for his patriotic message from Saturday night. Bush also called Kamala Harris to congratulate her on her historic election to the vice presidency.
The First Lady is speaking out about the election. Melania Trump tweeted in part, "every legal vote should be counted." Sources tell CNN, the First Lady, and several others in Trump's inner circle are urging him to concede and accept the loss.
Joe Biden is set to announce his coronavirus task force on Monday. More than 237,400 people have died from Covid-19 in the United States. At least nine million total cases of coronavirus have been reported in the country.

Record 74+ Million Early Ballots Cast 6 Days Before Election
More than 74 million voters have cast their early ballots with only 6 days to go until the presidential election. That number represents more than half of the total number of votes cast in the 2016 Presidential Election.
Covid-19 cases are steadily rising in the United States. On Wednesday, the death toll rose to more than 227,000 people, along with 8.8 million cases. Dr. Anthony Fauci says, a coronavirus vaccine will not be available until January 2021 at the “earliest”.
Despite the rise in cases, the White House lists ending the pandemic as one of the Trump administration’s accomplishments. The White House made the claim in a press release Wednesday.
President Trump is fighting to hold on to Arizona, a key battleground state and a Covid-19 hot spot. Wednesday. Many of his supporters weren’t wearing masks or social distancing.
