Since he was 15 years old he started practising both strength and endurance (in the form of Triathlon) training. This brought him a lot of practical experience in combining training for both strength and endurance in an effective way. Hidde is very passionate about this relatively new sport called ‘Hyrox’, where both strength and endurance are essential for performance. Outside his physical performances Hidde studied both the Bachelor and Master Human Movement Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. He now works parttime as a S&C coach at Papendal, the largest Olympic training facility in the Netherlands.
