The Advent Season is a time of reflection as we prepare to celebrate the birth of Jesus! This year at Hope, we’ll also have weekly artwork that helps us immerse ourselves into the Bethlehem story. The Art of Christmas is all about remembering that God’s peace, hope, joy, and salvation are the most beautiful gifts of all.

Generosity is not just about money, or giving of our time or talents. Generosity is about the condition of our hearts. While we don’t always see the impact, we can be sure of this - God is at work in every act of kindness, in every meal that is served, in every gift that is given. In this series, we will discover that the genius of generosity is that it doesn’t add up - it multiplies.

This is a two week series for imperfect Christians. Have you ever felt like you were riding the "spiritual struggle bus"? Feelings of spiritual inadequacy can make us fearful of God, but not in the healthy way. This series explores how knowing the loving, gracious God of Scripture can overcome our constant feelings of guilt and imperfection. The Bible is full of stories, songs, wisdom and teaching on how to love God and love people. The problem is, even for those of us who grew up in church, it can sometimes be difficult to understand what it says and how to apply it. In this year’s Summer Series, we will spend time learning tools for how to study the Bible, and then we’ll put it into practice by working through the book of Hebrews.

When reading the New Testament, we are reminded of Jesus’ promise to send us a helper after Himself. When things get tough, we naturally search for help. But are we looking for help in the right places? As believers, who are we looking to for help? Are we looking to friends or family? Or are we looking to The Holy Spirit - our ultimate Helper, sent as a gift to us by Jesus? In this three part series, we will discuss the Gifts of the Spirit, the Fruit of the Spirit, and how to walk in the Spirit.

One thing is for sure: Jesus gets quoted a lot. Whether it's a scripture verse you heard in a sermon somewhere, or maybe even something a friend said in a conversation, you’ve probably heard His name and his words discussed. When Jesus showed up on the scene in Galilee at the beginning of His ministry, He made an impression by taking the existing teaching of the Bible, and many times, turning it upside down and giving it new meaning for those hearing it for the first time. Join us in this series as we explore some of Jesus most famous and powerful words. 

Famed psychologist David Benner says: “The problem isn’t so much that we tell lies, but that we live them.” When we let the lies in, they wreak havoc to our souls and sabotage our peace. But how do we fight deceptive ideas that lead to disordered desires? Jesus, on the other hand, says that, “you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free.” We have to know the difference between our voice, the enemy’s voice, and God’s voice. Only then can we live a life that is based in truth. Only then can we live no lies.
