#078 - Will Clayton
Will Clayton is an Assistant Director of Strength & Conditioning at the University of Nevada where he oversees the training for the baseball and women’s basketball programs. Clayton returned to his alma mater in 2019 after spending the previous year and a half as a coaching assistant at Fresno State University. He began his career as an intern coach at the Parisi Speed School in Reno, NV before interning with the Nevada Wolfpack in 2017. #077 - Stu Roche
Stu Roche is the Assistant Director of Sports Performance at Marquette University. In addition to his coaching role where he oversees the training for the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams as well as the men’s and women’s tennis teams, he is also the internship coordinator. Prior to joining Marquette, he worked as a Research Lab Specialist at the University of Michigan from 2012-2015 in the department of orthopedic research. During that time he authored and coauthored multiple peer reviewed research papers. While Roche was working at Michigan, he also led the performance training for both the men’s and women’s rugby teams after serving as an intern within the Michigan strength & conditioning department during a semester scholarship exchange program in the fall of 2011. He also spent time as an intern coach with Eastern Michigan football in 2015 and got his start in the profession serving in a studentship at UK Sport at Loughborough University as a sport and exercise biochemistry worker.Roche is the founder of My Momentum Pro, a non-profit that champions the growth of young professionals in the field of strength and conditioning. My Momentum is an online platform and organization designed for the aspiring performance coach, which provides resources and a community for individuals aiming to enter the sports performance coaching profession. Originally hailing from Stamford, England, Roche was a rugby athlete throughout high school and college playing in both the UK and overseas in the United States. Nowadays, he continues to strength train and challenge himself physically and mentally, most recently completing a 1000-mile bike ride the length of the United Kingdom. #075 - Danny Wheel
Danny Wheel is the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at UNC-Greensboro. Coach Wheel oversees the strength and conditioning department for all 15 inter-collegiate teams. He arrived at UNCG in 2011 after spending the previous 10 years at Eastern Carolina University, first as the assistant director of strength and conditioning before being elevated to the coordinator of Olympics sports in his final six years at ECU. Coach Wheel is a Master Strength & Conditioning Coach through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association earning the highest honor in the profession in 2019.Wheel was a three-year letterman and two-year starter after beginning his playing career as a walk-on athlete for the Virginia Tech football team. Following his college football career he trained and competed in both strongman and powerlifting. He continues to strength train in a variety of different ways as well as currently gearing up for his first 5k race. #074 - Alex Lee
Alex Lee is the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance at American University. He oversees the strength and conditioning department and the training for all 16 varsity sports after returning to American in 2021. He spent the previous year and a half leading the Memphis University School program as the head strength coach and creating the first strength and conditioning program at the high school. Lee previously spent five years at the United States Naval Academy as an assistant strength coach for football and wrestling. Prior to Navy, Lee was an assistant strength at American from 2013-2014. He got his start as an undergraduate intern at NC State University and later a professional intern in 2009. From there he went on to serve as a graduate assistant strength coach at Auburn University from 2009-2012. Lee is a competitive weightlifter and competed nationally in the 77kg weight class from 2010 to 2016. He still continues to lift and adds in more athletic and on-field movements to his own training. Haley Roberts is an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Sam Houston State University where she works with the Bearkats softball, women’s basketball, soccer, tennis, and bowling teams in addition to assisting with football. She also is also responsible for their internship recruitment, program, and development. She came to SHSU in 2021 after previously serving as a graduate assistant strength coach at the University of North Alabama. Prior to that she served as the lead intern with the football strength staff at UNLV from 2019-2020 as well as served as a virtual intern with Clemson basketball. Roberts competed in multiple sports growing up before finding strength sports. She now trains in powerlifting and completed her first competition picking up her first podium finish and Nationals invite in as many competitions. #072 - Jake Pudenz
Jake Pudenz is the Owner and Head Coach of Jake Pudenz Strength & Power. Primarily located in Des Moines, Iowa, Pudenz works with all types of strength athletes both in person as well as remotely. Prior to starting his own business in 2020, he was the head strength & conditioning coach for the Denison Community School District from 2011-2020 which consisted of working with ten different varsity/JV high school teams, several out-of-season programs, and non-athletes in the area. Pudenz got his start coaching as an intern at Got Strength Gym in Iowa City where he worked and trained for three years until interning at Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning in the summer of 2011.Pudenz is an avid strength athlete and has train and competed in multiple team, combat, and strength sports throughout his career. Following high school football and wrestling he began training in MMA from 2006-2009 taking on multiple amateur and then professional fights. He soon after shifted to strongman where he competed in various competitions before picking up competitive weightlifting in 2011. He was a full-time weightlifter and member of the California Strength National Team from 2012-2019 amassing multiple top 5 national finishes including being the 2019 109kg National Champion, as well as finishing 2nd and 3rd at the American Open in 2019 and 2018 respectively. Since then he’s been training in jiu-jitsu more frequently but continues to actively train in weightlifting setting his sights on Master-level competition in the future. Cam Davidson is the Director of Strength & Conditioning at Colorado College. Most recently, Davidson came to CC from Penn State University where he was the assistant director of performance enhancement overseeing the men’s ice hockey, women’s volleyball, and track & field programs. Prior to joining Penn State, Davidson was the director of strength and conditioning at the College of Charleston from 2007-2009 where he oversaw all 19 intercollegiate teams. He began his coaching career as an undergraduate intern at his alma mater, the University of Wyoming. After graduating he stepped into a graduate assistant coaching position at Marshall University from 2005-2006 before joining Clemson University as an assistant basketball strength coach for one year. A former college wrestler at the University of Wyoming, Davidson has since then been competing in Olympic weightlifting. Since starting in 2010, he has competed in the senior-level for Pittsburgh Barbell, East Coast Gold, and Columbus Weightlifting on the national circuit as a 94kg lifter. Sean Doherty is an Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Villanova University where he oversees the training for the men’s lacrosse, volleyball, men’s and women’s tennis programs. Prior to arriving at Villanova he spent a brief stint as an assistant coach at Loyola University Maryland, following serving as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Montana from 2016-2018.
