LANEY ROSENZEIG: THE "ART: OF RAPID RECOVERY FROM TRAUMA: EP. 174
LANEY ROSENAWEIG is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for over three decades in the mental health field. In addition to her private practice, Laney trains licensed mental health professionals in the use of "ART", ACCELERATED RESOLUTION THERAPY. Laney has taken her training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizaation Reprogramming) to a place where recovery is not only much faster (often as little as a one hour seession), but the patient does. not have to relive the trauma, nor the therapist hear about it. She describes the work as targeting the area of the brain which talk therapy is unable to access, and the patient is able to replace negative images with positive ones. While the memory of the trauma is not erased, its impact is mitigated. Laney says,“The most difficult aspect of discussing ART is the fact that it sounds too good to be true.” We discuss her training, how she discovered and devleposed her technique, how she trains other practioners and offers many examples of successful patient treatment.
