540: Skip Prichard - Make your future success

Today we talk with Skip Prichard, author of “The Book of Mistakes - 9 Secrets To Creating A Successful Future”. Skip is the former CEO of Ingram Content Group and Harvard Business Review labeled him as a rare social CEO and a “relentless giver.” But check this out...how Skip grew up is incredibly interesting. Both parents attended seminary. Told they could not have children, they were headed to the mission field in a Third World country. Skip's mom became pregnant, eventually having six children, so they made the mission their home. Taking in people who were abused and addicted, and Skip's fascination with success began. He was intrigued with...Why would one person succeed while another would fail? Wouldn’t you love to know the answer to that question? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

539: What problem do you solve?

We are talking about serving others through Sales. If you have a product, service or idea, something that benefits people in any way, then you have a service to offer them, and there should be no sales pressure, only an appropriate desire to understand their need and discern if you really can help them. If you can help them, how do you effectively say so? The clip of Zig’s presentation is two minutes. To know how to serve someone, we need to be able to stand in their shoes and understand the problem they perceive. So, I posted on a question to my facebook page at agentkmiller.com, “What problem does your product, service or idea solve for people?” We got some great responses of course, some folks who laid out well the problem their products/service/idea solves, others who told us what their’s did and provided, but missed the problem perspective, and Michelle Prince and I offered some direction. If you’re a sales professional, business owner, entrepreneur, digital marketer, author, speaker, platform builder, or anyone who wants to build an audience, then you have to check out the all-new Secrets of Closing the Sale Master Class with Zig Ziglar and Kevin Harrington. 538: Habits - Mark Timm leading from humility

Today we talk with Mark Timm, Amazon rockstar and Executive Vice President of...Ziglar. We just had an incredible show with Mark and Kevin Harrington of Shark Tank fame on the new Secrets of Closing the Sale Masterclass, hear that in show 537 and get access at zigsecrets.com/enroll. In this show, we talk with Mark Timm on his habits for success. Mark was incredibly candid and openly shared his struggles in the 7 spokes of The Ziglar Wheel of Life, as well as the habits he employs for health. Some highlights: He’s learned not to go overboard with his tendency to be extreme with exercise and nutritional strategies, but focus on sustainability. He quit watching TV to better guard what went into his mind. He became a millionaire by age 30, then went a million in debt. It took him twice as long to pay back the million as it did to make the million. He learned the hard way that he must lead with humility, and he went deep into this issue. 537: Kevin Harrington - Secrets of Closing the Sale 2.0

This is a significant event. Zig Ziglar has influenced over 250 million people worldwide. His two best selling books are See You at the Top and Secrets of Closing the Sale. This second book on sales, in our interview with Seth Godin he says he listened to the recording over 70 times...he wore out the old cassette tapes and had to buy new ones. But the point is, as with all of Zig’s books, it wasn’t just about the topic on the front cover. It was about achieving a great life! In today’s show, I talk with two business superstars and I’m submitting you’ll hear the best sale ever - on sales. Zig has always claimed that we are all in sales. You can’t make any forward progress in life, in any area, unless you can sell someone on yourself. And in business, you won’t get anywhere without selling your skills, your product, your service or your idea. You’ll never get a date or get married without selling your value to another. You’ll never succeed as a parent if you can’t sell your kids on good choices. It’s about influence. Mark Timm is a wildly successful businessman with a company that is a top 100 Amazon reseller with over 59,000 products and growing. He’s executive VP of Ziglar, Inc and CEO of Ziglar Family. He’s partnered with Kevin Harrington, the guy who invented the infomercial and was one of the original four investors on Shark Tank, the guy with a net worth of 450 million dollars...to bring us Zig’s message from his foundational book, Secrets of Closing The Sale. Folks, it was an incredible look behind the scenes with these two guys and how they used Zig’s teaching to launch them not only into massive business success, but massive success in their lives overall. This one is a must listen.  Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

536: Do you really have power to change your life?

Kevin Miller and Tom Ziglar cover the topic of, what power do we have to make things better in our lives, immediately? We listen to a 2 minute clip from Zig Ziglar where he deftly points out how we all understand there are things we can do, right now, to make our lives worse. But what we don’t often conceptualize near as much is, there are things we can also do, right now, to make our lives so much better. He tells it in a compelling way, of course. From the message we asked this question, “Your life is what it is today. What is a change you could make, pretty quickly, that you think would improve your life for the better? Any answer is relevant.” We got a great array of answers, from things people espoused were overall good habits, to people who had specific things they wanted to do to make their lives better, but were struggling to actually do. It was a very real conversation. Join us! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

533: Howard Partridge - the vital power of community

We are talking about something that is just - vital. Community, and specifically, the power it has for our lives, and the handicap we all have without it. This is actually a special installment in place of our normal Q&A, but we recently had a chance to talk with Howard Partridge about his new book "The Power of Community - How Phenomenal Leaders Inspire Their Teams, WOW Their Customers and Make Bigger Profits.”  I just spent time in Nashville, TN with Howard and got a copy right from Howard’s hand. This is a timely, timely book. We are suffering as a culture by being uber connected digitally, but under connected personally with real relationships.  The book comes out Jan 25, 2018 but you can Pre-order now at http://www.howardpartridge.com/community. When I asked him what the catalyst was for his devotion to this topic, he cited it was church. And the LACK of real community and relationship there. Pretty interesting. If you don’t know Howard, he knocked it out of the park in business and is now  an international business coach with coaching members in over 100 industries in 9 countries. He is a best selling author of seven books and the exclusive business coach for the Zig Ziglar Corporation. Howard has a story, he grew up on welfare in Mobile Alabama and left home at 18. He arrived in Houston, Texas on a Greyhound bus with only 25 cents in his pocket. He started his first business out of the trunk of his car over 33 years ago and built it into a multi-million dollar enterprise. He has owned 9 small businesses altogether and owns 4 companies at the time of this recording. He is the proud president of Phenomenal Products, Inc. which helps leaders and business owners inspire their teams using the Power of Community. Learn more about your ad choices.
