In this show, we go behind the scenes with Patrick and follow his struggles and healthy habits following the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Some highlights: He’s a lifetime athlete but struggles with hip and knee issues. He’s cut way back on sugar, especially habits like downing a whole bag of red vines! His biggest family challenge is just too many activities. His mental regimen has three components, exercise, sleep, and silence. He attends mass every day for half an hour and feels it’s the best thing he does all day. In his career, he always wants to be taking some risks and not be found overprotecting the last, best thing. On the personal front, he’s terrible at taking time to do things he just enjoys and doesn’t nurture friendships enough. Patrick Lencioni is one of the most sought-after corporate speakers and influences on the planet. He has 11 best-selling books and his latest is just tremendous. It’s titled “The Ideal Team Player” - How to recognize and cultivate the three essential virtues. Now folks, either we want to hire the ideal team player, or we want to know how to BE the ideal, most desired team player. I’ll give it away - the three essential virtues are humility, hunger, and smarts. But that doesn’t truly give it away, as you need to understand the specific dynamics. Patrick is an authority on human dynamics, especially in the workplace. It was an incredible conversation, as he has an amazing story that sets him up to be the innovator he is in this space.

His best mental exercise is getting enough sleep, and a great tip I got from him is, he does not look at email till noon and saves the morning for creative work. 544 Habits - Mandy Harvey
We go behind the scenes with Mandy Harvey to hear her daily habits for success, following the 7 spokes in the Ziglar Wheel of Life. Please don’t miss our main interview with her in the last show, # 543. Some highlights coming up: To battle her connective tissue disorder and resulting bad joints and ligaments, she must work out 60 minutes per day to gain muscle. She travels so much right now she’s often only home 4 days a month, so she has to be ultra intentional in scheduling time with friends and family. She works on her music 40-70 hours per week. Her faith is the most important thing in her life but with her schedule and pace, she struggles to spend time in her bible and at church. The pace has often had her only sleeping 4 hours per night so she’s really had to dig into time management. Here is a special treat - chances are you’ve seen the blockbuster show, America’s Got Talent. And if so, you may have seen Mandy Harvey, the incredible singer who is, deaf. Talk about an overcoming, inspiring story! She was in college pursuing a vocal music education degree, then lost her hearing. She left the program to pursue other career options, but later returned to music. There is a great story on what led to that. Some highlights - Lifting weights makes Skip happy, he could do it all day long. But he also loves to eat, it’s his weakness. He’s a passionate believer in dark chocolate. He and his family all sing together and feel it’s a great stress reliever. Skip reads a book a day, but struggles to get adequate sleep.
