12 Weeks of Running Transformation - My Journey and Lessons | Mere Mortals in Motion
I wrap up my 12-week running journey, sharing how I transitioned from an engineer's mindset to embracing the challenges of endurance running. Starting with a detailed plan, I navigated through various obstacles like illness, injury, and adjusting to life changes while aiming to increase my weekly running distance. Over the course of these 12 weeks, I clocked 192.28 kilometers across 52 runs, learning to appreciate running beyond just the numbers. This experience taught me about adaptability, mental barriers in running, and the importance of consistent effort over perfection. Join me as I reflect on this transformative journey and share key takeaways that might inspire your own running adventures. Don't forget to drop your comments and questions, and stay tuned for what's coming next in my fitness journey!0:00 - Intro0:44 - Why?1:45 - The Plan3:10 - How it Went5:35 - Adaptability8:16 - Challenges9:32 - Benefits12:20 - Mental Barrier14:40 - SummaryFollow the details over on the website as well!https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/meremortaltraininghttps://www.meremortalspodcast.com/runningphaseConnect with Mere Mortals:Website: https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/Discord: https://discord.gg/jjfq9eGReUInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/meremortalspodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@meremortalspodcastSupport the show

Final Week Insight, Week 12 | Mere Mortals in Motion
As I conclude the 12th and final week of my running phase, I reflect on the journey I've embarked on. My aim was simple: to spend more time running, increasing my minutes and kilometers on the road. Though the journey had its ups and downs, especially with injuries and life's unpredictabilities, I managed to clock in 5.49 kilometers this week. I didn't stick to my original plan, but I adapted to what life threw at me, incorporating other forms of exercise like biking and walking. I realized that running has become less of a mental hurdle and more of a stress reliever for me, a change I'm quite proud of. As I wrap up this phase, I'm already pondering how running will fit into my future fitness routines, embracing the lessons learned and the growth experienced. Stay tuned for a detailed debrief with all the numbers and insights from my entire 12-week running journey!0:00 - Intro1:20 - Week 12 details3:22 - Summary Follow the details over on the website as well!https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/meremortaltraininghttps://www.meremortalspodcast.com/runningphaseConnect with Mere Mortals:Website: https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/Discord: https://discord.gg/jjfq9eGReUInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/meremortalspodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@meremortalspodcastSupport the show

Balancing Running with Life's Realities, Week 11 | Mere Mortals in Motion
Week 11 of my 12-week running phase brought its fair share of challenges. As I reflect on the journey, it's clear the initial goal of increasing time on my feet has been complicated by the realities of life, including an injury that forced me to reconsider my approach. I shifted my focus from hitting a specific kilometer count to a more holistic view of movement, including biking and walking, to maintain my fitness while recovering. This week taught me the importance of listening to my body and the need to balance ambition with practical recovery, highlighting that sometimes, stepping back is just as valuable as pushing forward. Stay tuned for the final week and the retrospective analysis that will follow!0:00 - Intro0:35 - Overview1:31 - Week 113:05 - SummaryFollow the details over on the website as well!https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/meremortaltraininghttps://www.meremortalspodcast.com/runningphaseConnect with Mere Mortals:Website: https://www.meremortalspodcast.com/Discord: https://discord.gg/jjfq9eGReUInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/meremortalspodcast/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@meremortalspodcastSupport the show
