John Nores: The Thin Green Line

John Nores is the author of the book Hidden War: How Special Operations Game Wardens Are Reclaiming Wildlands From the Drug Cartels as well as War in the Woods: Combating the Marijuana Cartels on America’s Public Lands.   For more than 26 years, John served as a Game Warden for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Gavy Friedson: Israeli Medic and Rescue Expert

Today’s guest on this bonus episode of the DANGER CLOSE Podcast is Gavy Friedson.   Gavy is a former Israeli infantry soldier and IDF Spokesperson who now works with an organization called United Hatzalah of Israel. Their mission is to provide immediate medical assistance using a GPS linked app through a network of volunteer medics riding specially equipped motorcycles capable of getting to the site of an emergency much faster than a traditional ambulance. Their response time is less than three minutes across Israel and 90 seconds in metropolitan areas. Andy McNab: Behind Enemy Lines

Today's guest on Danger Close is Andy McNab.  Andy is a former member of the British SAS who led Bravo Two Zero during the first Gulf War.  Over his time in the military, he conducted counter-terrorist and anti-drug missions in Central and South America and throughout the Middle East and worked undercover in Northern Ireland. He was captured in Iraq on a mission during the first Gulf War in 1991, an experience he recounts in his first book, Bravo Two Zero.  Andy was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (DCM) and Military Medal (MM). At the time he left SAS in 1993, he was the British Army's most highly decorated serving soldier. In his post-military life, he has instructed special operations forces in survival, hostage rescue and counter terrorism. He was also the technical advisor on the classic action film Heat. He is the author of the Nick Stone and Tom Buckingham thriller series, the co-author of the Boy Soldier series, and the author of three books about his own military experience: Bravo Two Zero, Seven Troop, and Immediate Action. Ayaan Hirsi Ali: Human Rights Activist

Today’s guest on Danger Close is a women’s rights activist, free speech advocate and New York Times bestselling author of Infidel, The Caged Virgin, Nomad, Heretic, The Challenge of Dawa, and Prey who is unafraid to tackle some of the world’s most pressing issues.   Ayaan was born in Somalia and grew up in Africa and the Middle East before seeking asylum in the Netherlands where she served as a member of the Dutch Parliament. She was working with Theo van Gogh on a film titled SUBMISSION when he was murdered by an Islamic extremist with terrorist ties who took issue with the film’s portrayal of Islam. After shooting Van Gogh multiple times he used a butcher knife and sawed into Van Gogh’s throat before stabbing a letter into the filmmaker’s chest. That letter was addressed to Ayaan Hirsi Ali. She was named one of Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2005, one of the Glamour Heroes of 2005, and Reader’s Digest’s European of the Year.  Today, Ayaan continues her fight as a human rights activist as the founder of the AHA Foundation, an organization fighting for the rights of women around the globe. She is a fellow at Harvard University’s John F.
