Episode 95: 3 Favorite Tools for Selling Online
In today's episode, Vanessa Kynes and I riff about a few of our favorite tools for selling online. We cover quite a bit of related material in this episode as well, such as related tools and considerations for choosing the right tool. And by the end of the episode, we decided that we really do need an episode on how to string together these tools into a working funnel. So be on the lookout for that sometime in the future.

Episode 94: Turning a Service Into a Product
Dani Stringer of KidNurse, joins me on the podcast today to discuss building an online community and becoming an online educator. It's always interesting chatting with someone who is taking something that's typically a service and has turned it into a product.
She chats with us about how she's built her community and eventually created her first online course. There's a lot of great insight in this episode, regardless of whether or not you have plans to launch an online course.

Episode 93: Balancing Business and Creativity
Today’s guest is luxury, destination Wedding and Editorial Photographer, KT Merry. It's an interview I've been really excited for, because Krista and I have both admired her work for so long. If you're not familiar with her work, right now you should pull up both KT Merry and Render Loyalty on Instagram to see what I mean.
We discuss all sorts of topics in this episode from her journey as a photographer, defining your why, to the start of Render Loyalty. And as expected, she provides a lot of great insight in this episode. I particularly appreciated her thoughts around being more proactive when it comes to both business and creativity.
As a quick aside, if you're a photographer interested in learning from KT, you want to check out her course The Abundance Plan, which you can learn more about on her website.

Episode 92: Bookkeeping and Accounting for Creatives
CPA, Amy Northard, the Accountant for Creatives, joins me today for a conversation about bookkeeping, accounting, and a few of the government programs, such as the Paycheck Protection Program and EIDL that have been rolled out in response to the pandemic. We don't talk much about what the Paycheck Protection Program or EIDL is or how to apply, since I figured that a lot of people have already heard about these programs. We do however, chat about what businesses should be doing to give themselves the best chance for things, like the Paycheck Protection Program loan, to be forgiven.
Before we get started, a quick disclaimer: I am not an accountant and the information shared during this episode are for informational purposes only and not for the purposes of providing accounting advice. And while Amy is an accountant, she is not your account. You should contact your accountant to obtain advice with respect to any particular issue or problem.

Episode 90: The Possibility of Something Better
Today I welcome back Katelyn James to the Brands that Book podcast to talk about a subject that I've largely avoided: the quarantine. For those of you who have listened to the podcast the last couple weeks, you know that I've tried my best not even to mention the Coronavirus. I've really tried to focus on business during this season. I just feel like there's so much noise out there about what's going on in the world and personally I've been trying to cut out as much of that noise as possible lately. But the reality of the situation is that it is a tough season.
There's a lot of uncertainty in the future. I know in conversations that I've been having with Krista, that one of the hardest parts for us is just been not knowing what the end date could be and what life might look like in a couple months. So, I think there is an important conversation that can be had in this season around dealing with uncertainty and what it looks like to live well in this season.
I'm excited about this conversation because I think what Katelyn has to share is life giving, as so many conversations with her and her husband Michael are. What I appreciate about Katelyn is that she doesn't try to minimize the severity of the situation. She's not just saying, “Oh, just look on the bright side,” but rather she recognizes the tough situation and opens herself up to the possibility that something good could come from it, even when things are really tough.
Hopefully you find this conversation as refreshing as I did. And we do wrap up the conversation by chatting about what businesses can be sharing about and doing in this season, and some of the ways that others in the industry are innovating.

Episode 88: How to Follow Up & Get a Response
Today Vanessa Kynes and I are chatting about how to effectively follow up with people. Or in other words, how to follow up in a way that gets people to take action. We chat about some of the broader reasons that we all should be following up with leads and then we jump into some super practical strategies and discuss different scenarios, like what does a normal follow-up look like, how do we prevent people from ghosting even after they've committed to moving forward, and how often should we follow up.
This has been one of my favorite conversations to date. It's a little on the longer side, but I think we cover a lot of great stuff. If you're looking for a more condensed version of this content, be sure to check out the corresponding blog post that was released along with this episode. It even includes some templates that you can use as you follow up with people.

Both her workshops were sold out this year, but a few seats to the Paris workshop have opened up since it had to be rescheduled due to the current pandemic.
