The Wine Makers
A laid-back journey into the heart of wine culture Every week, hosts Sam Coturri, Bart Hansen, and Brian Casey pull the cork on real conversations with winemakers, growers, sommeliers, and industry trailblazers from Sonoma and beyond. The Wine Makers blends deep knowledge with a relaxed, no-snobbery approach to everything from biodynamic farming to rebellious cider makers and sake artisans. These are not dry lectures or polished promos—just passionate people talking shop over a glass (or three). The hosts’ decades of hands-on experience in vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms fuel lively discussions about sustainability, storytelling, and the changing world of wine. Whether you’re just starting to explore wine or already know your skin-contact from your carbonic maceration, this show delivers honest insight, practical advice, and plenty of personality. Pour a glass and press play.

The Wine Makers – Anne-Charlotte Melia
Anne-Charlotte is a charming, fun and extremely talented wine maker from the Châteauneuf-du-Pape region of France. Her unique soils and forest that protects her vineyards from the mighty Mistral winds allow her to make wines with finesse and elegance. Raised in a castle near La Crau, her closest neighbor is the world-renowned Vieux Telegraphe. One day while dropping her father off at the airport for a project he had started in Morocco, he handed her the keys to the winery and told her “you are now in charge”..Since that day, Anne has made some of the most beautiful wines in the world and we are honored to call her a friend. A very fun podcast….

The Wine Makers – Tegan Passalacqua
This week The Wine Makers go “on the road” to Victor, a small town near Lodi, Ca. to meet with Tegan Passalacqua. Most people will know Tegan as the wine maker for Turley Wine Cellars, but he has another, small brand called Sandlands that gets a lot of attention from people “in the know”. These wines are made from lesser-known vineyards, most outside of Sonoma and Napa. Tegan recently purchased a house and a historic meat processing plant in Victor with plans to convert it into a production facility for his Sandlands wines. He is also the founder of the Historic Vineyard Society, a non-profit whose only goal is to identify and save old-vine vineyards in California.Tegan took us on a tour of the vineyards in the surrounding area and we ran into Markus Bokisch, you can see this on our Instagram feed… @winemakerspod
