The Wine Makers on Radio Misfits
The Wine Makers
A laid-back journey into the heart of wine culture Every week, hosts Sam Coturri, Bart Hansen, and Brian Casey pull the cork on real conversations with winemakers, growers, sommeliers, and industry trailblazers from Sonoma and beyond. The Wine Makers blends deep knowledge with a relaxed, no-snobbery approach to everything from biodynamic farming to rebellious cider makers and sake artisans. These are not dry lectures or polished promos—just passionate people talking shop over a glass (or three). The hosts’ decades of hands-on experience in vineyards, cellars, and tasting rooms fuel lively discussions about sustainability, storytelling, and the changing world of wine. Whether you’re just starting to explore wine or already know your skin-contact from your carbonic maceration, this show delivers honest insight, practical advice, and plenty of personality. Pour a glass and press play.

The Wine Makers – Jean Arnold Sessions
EP95: Without a doubt, one of the most wonderful afternoons we’ve ever had at The WineMakers, was when Jean Arnold Sessions dropped by this week. Jean has been one of more influential people in the wine business in Sonoma, whether guiding business and marketing strategy as a consultant or being CEO of one the few iconic wineries, Hanzell. Jean prides herself on her story telling and this show is one of our best. Enjoy.

The Wine Makers – Jillian Johnson DeLeon
The guys sit down with Jillian, owner and winemaker at Onesta and talk about how she gets to “travel up and down the West Coast, finding solutions for other winemaker’s problems” while making beautiful single-vineyard Rhône varieties that are true expressions of the place. Most of it is sold directly to the consumer, sold through the wine club and out of her tasting space at Feast it Forward in Napa. Johnson is launching a new brand, one she says “morphs honesty to guilty pleasure”: Mentida—a Spanish word for “a little lie.” With Mentida, she’ll focus on blends of different vineyards.
