George Floyd, Anna's Crisis of Faith & True Surrender

We thought that this ended up being a particularly interesting episode. We recorded it in the immediate aftermath of the George Floyd tragedy so that naturally became part of the discussion. Anna also confessed that she has been feeling a crisis of faith around the fundamental principle of Vedic Knowledge: that ultimately benevolent forces are the most powerful and that love will win out in the end. We explored how much of what we have a problem with is a projection of something unresolved in ourselves and considered what it means to be truly surrendered. We got into some day-to-day techniques and practical responses so hopefully you will find something in this episode that helps you. With love and Jai Guru DevaMatt & AnnaLearn to meditate with Matt www.bondimeditation.com.au

Vedic Parenting - Live Q&A Special

This is a special live Q&A episode on the subject of Vedic Parenting. It's relevance isn't limited to parents though, as we’re all involved in raising children in some capacity, whether as family relations, friends etc.I was joined by Vedic Meditation teacher and mother of 20-month-old Indi, Jess Osie. We recorded the session live on Zoom with students of BMC listening and asking the questions. We discussed how to help children find their dharma (life’s purpose), the role of discipline in parenting, how to navigate around drugs and other social challenges and generally how to help children to be less fearful, happier and more fulfilled.Parenting is a sensitive and huge topic and this is just one take on it, but we hope you find something useful in there.Learn to meditate with Matt www.bondimeditation.com.au

Australia's catastrophic bushfire season. What is Nature trying to tell us?

In episode six of Very Vedic — season one’s final episode — Matt’s student Anna asks for the Vedic view on Australia’s catastrophic bushfire season. She identifies it as Destruction, one of the three underlying forces that control all things, but how do we even begin to accept that there’s a bigger reason for all of this when people and animals are dying?Matt shares one interpretation from the Vedic view, with the utmost respect for the lives, homes and land lost. And that’s that Destruction isn’t inherently evil. Its purpose is to create more space for more creation to come. What he explains in this episode, is that Nature would like us to learn and evolve through consciousness and connection. And what does Nature need in order to teach us? Our attention. And how does it get our attention? Obvious, dramatic and even painful events that wake us up to what we’re doing wrong. From the Vedic view, the world is always in one of four stages (or ages, or yugas) — Satya Yuga, Treta Yuga, Dvapara Yuga and Kali Yuga. Right now we’re in Kali Yuga, which is the age of ignorance.Matt gives this context to explain why the majority of our current culture is fixed in a pursuit of external power, acquired by dominating and manipulating Nature. This creates imbalances and makes Nature scream. Nature's cries become harder and harder to avoid. It is trying to force us into a higher state of consciousness and acknowledge the inter-relatedness of all things. So right now with Australia’s catastrophic bushfire season, we’re becoming aware that the behaviour of the world is unsustainable. This in itself is a triggering point for a lot of people — that if we have this broader perspective about catastrophes or death, that we are callous or lack compassion. But the very fact that we’re aware of what’s at play, means we are participating with Nature through acceptance. And it is through acceptance that we move towards evolution and better things. Matt explains that this is humanity sitting in its inherent power.Would you like to hear a second season of Very Vedic? Love, intimate relationships and what to do when friendships become irrelevant.

In episode five of Very Vedic, Matt’s student Anna starts by sharing the complete flow and blissfulness she felt while traveling to the studio to record.Matt shares that from the Vedic view, this was Anna experiencing the support of nature. In this episode, we learn that we create our own universe because our experience of the universe is based on our state of consciousness. The pair then move onto relationships, and Matt explains that it is our relationships that create the most meaningful opportunities for evolution.Matt shares that we choose our partners because their wounds intersect with our own. We trigger each other’s wounds, which presents an opportunity to evolve. He also shares that as we evolve spiritually, we don’t actually change, it’s our desires that change. And that we come to realise that our desires are in fact not our own, but nature experiencing itself through us.If you’re curious about the Vedic view on love, intimacy, parenting and relationships, how we choose our partners and ending irrelevant friendships, Matt hopes you love this episode. If you’re keen to learn how to meditate, or you have a question you’d like answered, DM Matt on Instagram @bondimeditation, or email info@bondimeditation.com.au.Thanks for listening and if you like what you hear, please leave Very Vedic a review!Jai Guru Deva.Very Vedic is produced by Studio Offline, technical production by Pod Paste, original music by Al Royale.Learn to meditate with Matt www.bondimeditation.com.au

The often-bumpy journey to enlightenment, joy and living in our dharma.

In episode four of Very Vedic, Matt’s student Anna asks about the relevance of joy from the Vedic view, which opened up an interesting discussion about the often bumpy and sometimes traumatic path to enlightenment.Matt reveals that as we begin our spiritual journeys, or even if we’re decades in, it is common to feel like our state of mind isn’t matched to our elevated state of consciousness. He explains that if someone is experiencing a darker state of mind as they progress spiritually, then karmically, that is what is most relevant for that individual to evolve.Matt and Anna also discuss the Vedic concept of dharma — which loosely translates to purpose. He provides insight into how we can discover our dharma and live a more joyful, useful and fulfilling life. This episode stands for the light and shade of our spiritual journeys, and seeks to close the gap between mental health and enlightenment.Do you need support?Visit http://www.spiritualemergencenetwork.org/If you’re keen to learn how to meditate, or you have a question you’d like answered, DM Matt on Instagram @bondimeditation, or email info@bondimeditation.com.au.Thanks for listening and if you like what you hear, please leave Very Vedic a review!Jai Guru Deva.Very Vedic is produced by Studio Offline, technical production by Pod Paste, original music by Al Royale.Learn to meditate with Matt www.bondimeditation.com.au
