Have you been looking after yourself?
This is a lesson that I'm in the middle of right now. As ya'll know, I recently had surgery and it's been full on. I've been pushing myself too hard, running around still doing all the things without truly acknowledging how I'm feeling. I'm sore. I'm tired. I've got a million thoughts happening with all the things I want to do. I'm so passionate about all the injustice that's going on in the world right now and I want to serve. But listen, if you're not stopping to acknowledge what your body and your mind really need, then you better believe there will come a point when you can't avoid it anymore. It will make you aware and you will be forced to stop.So my question to you is, are you checking in with yourself? Are you acknowledging that you need time, you need space, you need to sit down and just rest? If you're not doing any of that, how can you expect to be full of energy and ready to serve. It's the truth. I don't believe that life is short. I believe it's long and although I feel as if I've lived such a full life already, I've barely scratched the surface. But if I don't stop and slow the fuck down, then I won't be any good to anybody. Sit with the questions that I ask in this episode. Really feel them and feel your body. Acknowledge that you need to look after yourself and recognise that you need to breathe.Connect with Erika:Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Confidence Chronicles and The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.comWAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? 10 Things I’ve learned from turning 37
It’s been a big year. A BIG year! As most of you know, I recently had surgery to have my breast implants removed after 13 years and then a breast lift. Ya’ll it really knocked me out and I really didn’t think it was going to be such a big deal. It took a lot of time to heal and now I’ve hit the ground running with live events starting back up and so many things happening, including my birthday!I just turned 37 and I feel like I’ve learned so much this year. These thoughts were pouring out of me at midnight so I decided to share 10 things I’ve learned from turning 37.Even though you’ve already changed so much, there’s still so much more change to comeIf you allow yourself to dream big, you can achieve the unthinkableYour words create your worldIt is ok to have everything you wantEvery time you’re about to move or jump to a new level of yourself, you are definitely going to be scared and “nervicited”I don’t slow down anywhere near as much as I can and that this will be my superpower which I haven’t even scraped the surface ofI sucked at friendships this year and I sucked at keeping in touch with my mom and dad and I need to do better thereYou can thrive and change the world even in a pandemicFamily time matters. It’s ok to be scared when you’re going to be bold and stand up for something. If you fuck it up, you can apologise for doing the wrong thing.BONUS - My husband is always right.Connect with Erika:Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Confidence Chronicles and The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.comWAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? Life Lessons Series: Recovery post implant removal surgery
It has been a weird few days post implant removal surgery. The pain medication has caused some really tough side effects that caused me to feel like I've been in a daze for the last few days. I couldn't focus, my headaches were intense and my expectations as to how quickly I'd be able to bounce back from this were way off. This has been quite an intense experience and has required a lot more rest and healing than my initial breast surgery 14 years ago. I have stopped taking the pain medication and have now started to feel better. This is the second episode in my breast implant removal series. Make sure to listen to the previous episode first to get the full story!Connect with Erika:Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Confidence Chronicles and The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.comWAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? Life Lessons Series: Why I’m having surgery
Ya'll know I like to keep it real, so over the next few episodes on the podcast, I'm going to share with you my journey through my breast reduction surgery. When I was 23 years old I had a breast lift done because I was really self-conscious with the way they looked at the time. They were big still, but they were saggy and I really didn't feel good about them. So I had a lift and in order to do the lift, I had saline implants put in to give them good shape. It has now been almost 14 years since I had the surgery and my boobs are gigantic. They don't cause me pain, there have been no dramas, but I really felt called to have the saline implants removed and to get some smaller boobies happening. This is the first episode in the series that takes place before I've gone through the surgery. This is my journey through the process. I hope it helps you!Connect with Erika:Instagram: @thequeenofconfidenceFacebook: @TheconfidencequeenYouTube: The Confidence Chronicles and The Queen Of ConfidenceLinkedIn: https://au.linkedin.com/in/erika-cramer-ab695571Sistahood Program: https://thequeenofconfidence.com/sistahood/Website: www.thequeenofconfidence.comWAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? The confidence to stand up and speak out
Y'all know there's a lot going on right now and there are a lot of people that are not speaking out, because they feel like they don't know what to say, or they're going to get it wrong, or they don't know enough. I'm here to tell you that's not good enough. It's not good enough to stay silent because you're not confident to speak up because you don't know enough to feel like you can contribute. You need to learn. You need to research and you need to find a way to be an active part of this movement. The Black Lives Matter movement is a marathon, not a sprint. Learn, grow, rest and then get back up again and continue with the fight.Today on the podcast I'm letting you into the audio version of a webinar we hosted for people who are really struggling with speaking up and speaking out right now and it was such an empowering conversation for everyone involved. We are one collective. We need everybody to come together and there is something that every single one of us can do. We don't need perfection. We need to let go of the opinion of others and trying to get it right, because we're not going to get it right. That's the whole point. We need to learn and support each other through this.If you want to watch the webinar please email us: support@thequeenofconfidence.comWAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? The Making Of Madhavi: One of India’s most influential women
My love, I have a very special guest for you on the podcast today, Madhavi Shankar. I found her when I was looking through Ted Talks and came across a really interesting talk that she gave around gender bias and women's empowerment. Y'all know I'm all about the women's empowerment and I felt called to have Madhavi on the podcast to share her story. Madhavi is the real deal. She is the CEO and founder of Space Basic which is a networking app for student housing communities. She was voted as one of the top 60 women transforming India by the government of India as well as the United Nations. The thing that I loved about this conversation is hearing Madhavi talk about her upbringing and how supported she was by her parents to follow her dreams. Madhavi really hasn't struggled with self-doubt either. She found herself a really great female mentor who she could bounce ideas off of, and her family has been behind her through her journey. So this episode is especially for those of you out there that come from a culture where perhaps your gender predetermines what you can and can't do. You may feel trapped sometimes, or feel as if you cannot break tradition. Madhavi is proof that you can break the mould and do what you feel called to do.Where to Find Madhavi:Instagram: @MadhaviShankar @SpaceBasicAppLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/madhavishankar/Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/madhavishankar13Space Basic: http://www.spacebasic.comSpace Basic Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/SpaceBasic/Twitter: @Madhavi_Shankar@SpaceBasicApp WAYS TO WORK WITH ME:Join my online coaching program for women - the Sistahood Learn how to Conquer Social Media through my new Confidently Conquering Social Media Course👑 Want to request a podcast? Privilege Guilt vs Privilege Awareness
With everything that's going on right now in the USA around the murder of George Floyd, I have been feeling really heavy. So I decided to record an IGTV to address a lot of the comments, posts and conversations I was witnessing online. If you'd like to go and watch the IGTV, head to my Instagram. Listen stop feeling guilty for being privileged and start taking action to make some much needed change. I keep reading posts from people feeling sorry for their privilege. Feeling guilt and shame around their privilege and the way they grew up. Like, they don't know how to act, how to respond because of their privilege. My message to you is this: Don't be sorry or guilty about your privilege. It's not your fault that you grew up white, in the suburbs with lots of money. That's not your fault. Don't feel sorry about it, be AWARE of it and know that it IS your responsibility to learn what's going on in the world. Learn about those that have not grown up privileged and use your voice in a way that will help humanity. Don't stay silent. Racism needs to end and it starts with every one of us doing our part in this movement. 👑 Want to request a podcast? Have a question for me? Click here to request a podcast!👑 Loving this podcast? The worst advice we’ve been given
We're giving each other advice that we probably don't even realise is literally some of the worst advice that we can give each other. When you say, "Just be yourself", what does that actually mean? It means staying within the boundaries of who you currently are. Or maybe it freaks you out because you don't really know who you are. You think that you need to act a certain way, or be a certain thing because that's who you've always been, but ladies - that ain't serving you.You need to be open to evolving and changing constantly. It's totally fine to think of yourself as one thing, and then the next day, try something else. If you're happy, be happy. If you're sad, be sad. Let yourself be whoever you feel like being on any given day and roll with it. There is so much goodness to come when you're more open with yourself to just feel your feelings and be whatever you feel like being.
