Exodus 15:22-27 Today we find Moses leading the Israelites in the hot desert when things become hard. They begin to grumble b/c they have no water! God had just performed an incredible miracle, saving them from the Egyptians by parting the Red Sea for them BUT the days were hard and they quickly forget that God can provide just as He always has. This story warns us to be cautious b/c we too, quickly forget good things from God and can begin to grumble just like the Israelites did. When things are hard, we can remember this story and choose to remember, what He’s done for us in the past. Exodus 9 & 10 Today we are in part 8 of our Exodus series.  We will hear the last few plagues. In today's story, we connect the dots that God wants us to know HIM. He doesn't play hide and seek but instead, truly wants us to know Him.  After many of the plagues, we hear God say he used his power so that everyone would know that He is God and that no one could boast that they had saved themselves, but it was truly only God who saved them; bringing them out of Egypt. The king of Egypt is upset with Moses' request and makes things even harder for the people. Even though this king seems all powerful, there is 1 who is much more powerful than him. We will learn how God is all powerful and He is in control even when things don't always make sense. God tells them that He will rescue His people. Exodus 4: 1-21 If you missed the last episodes, I would encourage you to go back and listen. The stories will build upon themselves and you’ll better understand how we got to where we are in our story. In today's story we hear Moses telling God he shouldn't be the 1 to help b/c he is not a good speaker.  God reminds Moses that He gave Moses his mouth and it is Him, God, who makes man able to speak. Again we hear that it’s not about us, what we can do, but it’s about God and what HE can do.  The children will hear how this applies to their very own lives. Moses ends up taking matters into his own hands and ends up fleeing from his home.  Our story will teach us some more about Moses but our big take away will be that God heard the Israelites cries. God hears in ways which we can not. He hears us no matter how we feel, where we live, or how many of us are talking at once. We will learn how He heard their prayers just as He hears us when we pray to him.
