Luke 7:36-50 This is a story about how to fall more in love with Jesus. We hear how a woman who realizes how serious her sin is suddenly now aware of just how sweet Jesus' forgiveness is. This realization turns her heart to love Jesus even more and from this love, she weeps, wetting his feet w/ her tears and using expensive perfume on them. Contrast this with the Pharisee who is there and how much love he shows Jesus. Knowing what is going on in the heart of the Pharisee, Jesus tells him a story to help him understand that he who has been forgiven little loves little. Matthew 2:1-12 This is the classic scripture about the Wise men.  The kids will learn that these wise men were not who you would expect to search out Jesus.  We discuss what Gentile means and realize that Jesus is not just the king of the Jews but the King of all nations. Luke 2:4-7 & Matthew 1:21 Today we hear the classic story of Jesus being born in Bethlehem. I am just getting over losing my voice so I apologize that it sounds different.  In our story, we hear that Jesus' birth changed everything. This was part of God's rescue plan but we contemplate what Jesus gave up when he came down to Earth and put on human flesh. The apply section speaks of the significance of His birth. Romans 3:23 -24 & John 3:16 To prepare for Christmas, we need to understand why Jesus' birth is such a big deal. To begin to grasp how important it is, we will rewind back to the Garden. I understand there are a variety of ages and backgrounds who are listening so I have tried to keep it age appropriate for most families. We learn about: 1. Adam & Eve sinning & how that affects us. 2. We all need Jesus and His grace. Grace is a gift, not earned. 3. Sin separates us from God. We are made right with God by being made free from sin through Jesus Christ. ***** We will not discuss Hell in this episode. Hell is biblical and should be discussed in your family when it's appropriate. Luke 22:42 & 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 We are doing something different for this episode. We will hear a short scripture from our bible and then listen to an imaginary story about Molly and Will to help us understand the scripture. Molly & Will just read our scripture AND you’ll hear they both experience the same exact day.  Will they react the same way to their day though? Today's story reminds us that God is not upset when pray for him change the situation. We look at Jesus as our example who prayed to his Father in Luke 22  " If you are willing, remove this cup from me. Yet not my will, but yours be done." God wants us to pray about anything and everything but Jesus is also our example that we must trust Him even if the situation does not change. Can we trust Him? You sure can.
