Matthew 6:19-21, 24 & Luke 12:13-15  In today's story we hear Jesus teach "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” We discuss what greed actually is and share an example from my childhood that the kids can relate to. We must be on our guard as Jesus says, because often the world we live in tells us the opposite. It says your life is cool, amazing, and valuable IF you buy this thing or that thing. It is not wrong to want things.. we simply must be cautious that we don't become greedy with our wants. God wants us to trust that He will give us all we really need. Mark 12:41- 44 This is the beginning of our short series on money. We discuss what we mean when we talk about our "hearts." Today, we hear the story of the poor widow giving out of her poverty. If we quantified it, she gave less than others BUT Jesus still says she gave more than all those who contributed to the offering box. Hmmmm. What does this mean? John 20:17-31 Jesus had risen and his followers got to see him! All were overjoyed except the 1 who  wasn't there when Jesus came. Thomas had missed this incredible meeting and doubted what his friends were telling him. We note that Thomas was a real person just like us & like him, we can always talk to Jesus about our questions or doubts.  Will Jesus come back to show Thomas too?!? Mark 1:41-45 & 2:1-12 Today, we hear a paralyzed man get lowered from the roof in hopes to get in front of Jesus and be healed. I wonder if the paralyzed man was disappointed when the 1st thing Jesus says to him is "Young man, your sins are forgiven.” What? They had gone through all this trouble to have him walk again…what was this about sins?  As we continue the story, Jesus shows us that the biggest issue is our sin but the good news is that He can forgive them. Daniel 6 To respect the variety of ages and stages of life that listen, I have adapted some of this so please go back and read the scriptures yourself including what is appropriate for your family. Today is the last episode in our Daniel series! As we end, we find Daniel in a very scary situation.... in the lion's den. Daniel had done everything right yet it seemed like everything was going wrong. This story reminds us that even though we do the right things, the outcome can still feel wrong. Daniel 4:28-37 In our last Daniel episode, episode #240, we heard the king writing a letter explaining a bizarre dream he had. If you missed it, make sure to go back and listen because this episode builds upon it.  The king's dream ends up coming true & God humbles him in this process. We discuss the difference b/n humility and pride and are reminded that God was so patient w/ the king. God offers us this same, loving patience when we ask for his forgiveness. God doesn’t roll his eyes when we ask for forgiveness yet again but instead, he’s so patient, so loving, that he HE wants to hear from us.....bring us  back to Him when we wander off the path b/c He loves us so much! Matthew 28, Luke 23, & John 19 This is perfect for Easter! Jesus is placed in the tomb but he does not stay there? We hear the joyful news of what happens on that 3rd day! Daniel 4:1-27  If you have missed the previous Daniel episodes, I'd recommend you go back and listen  as the stories build upon themselves.  Today, we hear king Nebuchadnezzar have another dream. Daniel explains that this dream is from God and is a warning for the king. This dream is to help teach him a lesson: to stop doing wicked things and be kind & admit that God is the ultimate ruler of the kingdom and not him. We discuss how this applies to a child's life. The kids will  observe areas that we try to set up our own little kingdoms  and act as  king or queen & we end with being comforted by the reality that our all knowing, all loving, never changing God is the ultimate ruler.   Thanks for tuning in to the Daniel series.
