In this special message on Father’s Day, Kong Hee shares six qualities—forming the acronym F.A.T.H.E.R—that every father should develop. A father is his child’s first friend and their friendship should last a lifetime. A father is also advisor to his child, the one who imparts values and wisdom. A father is the teacher who trains his child in the way he should go. A father is also his child’s healer, the one who treats both physical and emotional wounds. A father must be an example to his child, remembering that his family comes under his spiritual covering and are subject to attack if he habitually sins. Finally, a father has to be reliable, just as Father God is consistent and faithful. A father’s word is his bond. This message will encourage and strengthen every man appointed to be a father figure in someone’s life.

Are we too busy serving God to pay attention to Him? In this sermon, Lin Junxian draws from the example, of Mary and Martha in Luke 10. Mary was found sitting at the feet of Jesus, while her sister Martha was busy preparing refreshments. Why did Jesus conclude that Mary had chosen the good part? Pastor Junxian unpacks the heart condition of Martha: she drew her self-worth and purpose from fulfilling her duty, but that drew her away from Jesus. When we busy ourselves—even if we are serving the church—we must be careful not to ignore the Lord, but take the necessary time for silence and solitude in order to hear His still, small voice in every part of our lives. When we sit at the feet of Jesus like Mary did, we listen to Him, we surrender fully to Him and we honour Him—that is the portion for every believer.

Levi was a tax collector who received the call of Jesus (Luke 5), and was transformed into a disciple of Christ called Matthew, the writer of the Gospel. In this message, Bobby Chaw shows what it means to surrender our lives to Jesus. First, it is God who draws us to Himself—we cannot come to Him unless He does. We must therefore make time and give God space to draw us in and speak to us. Second, we must respond immediately to His invitation, just as Levi did—he rose up and followed Jesus right away. The disposition of our hearts must be right: Levi had a complete change of mind; he surrendered himself to Jesus unconditionally and absolutely. Pastor Bobby urges us not to take our relationship with God for granted—let’s not ignore Him when He knocks on the door of our hearts. In John 14:12 Jesus told His disciples, “he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do.” We must understand the function and type of work Jesus speaks of: the function of work is to bear witness to Who Jesus is, so that people will believe in Him; the type of work is ergon (Gr), which doesn't just mean miracles, signs and wonders, but the everyday occupations we undertake in the marketplace. In this encouraging message, Aries Zulkarnain assures us that through the power of the Holy Spirit in us, even the smallest things we do with excellence in our everyday lives are able to bear witness to Jesus and bring glory to God. In this age of COVID we may feel like we are limited in so many ways, but we can remain effective witnesses for Christ in our actions and our attitude.

Mothers are often patient and kind to their children but not to themselves. In this encouraging Mother’s Day message, Sun Ho shares candidly about feeling inadequate as a mother. But she has learned that every mother has what it takes to be the mother God has called her to be. In the book of Ruth, there was much tragedy in Naomi’s life, but she went from being a mother, to mother-in-law to Ruth, to being foster mother to Ruth’s son who was a forefather to Jesus. So, mothers, trust God with your child, and do the best you can.

Bobby Chaw continues on the theme of desiring more of Jesus in this message. Today Jesus is calling you to follow him wholly and unreservedly. To do so we must renounce two things: sin and self. We must be ruthless with sin and unrighteousness - no compromise. Repentance is a change of heart that transforms our lives. Second, we must deny ourselves and follow Christ. Without Him we can do nothing. Let this powerful message create in you a desire to press in to Jesus.

From conception to resurrection, Jesus lived every moment of His life by the Holy Spirit. In this moving and powerful message from Bobby Chaw, we are reminded that as Jesus is, so must we be. The anointing and power of the Holy Spirit are absolutely necessary for every minute of our life, as they were for Jesus. But reality is that familiarity breeds contempt: are you still desiring more of His Kingdom today or has it been years since you witnessed the power of the Holy Spirit? Pastor Bobby encourages us to follow in the footsteps of the widow of Zarephath who was broken, recognising that there was nothing she could do to save herself, and Naaman, who humbled himself and obeyed the instruction to dip himself in Jordan seven times. Let this message draw you to desire more of the Holy Spirit in your daily life.

Sometimes life hurts, but God wants to heal your wounds and give you a great future. In this moving message Lin Junxian reminds us that God gave Jesus a resurrected body, but His scars remained, the only manmade things that He brought to heaven. The scars of Jesus remind us of three things: one, they remind us of His sacrifice on the cross, which wiped out Satan’s “charge sheet” against us. Two, scars remind us of the victory on the cross: Jesus disarmed the principalities and powers. Three, the scars remind us of Jesus’ obedience on the cross: His heart was focused on the joy of knowing that we would be His. God doesn’t waste anything, not even our scars. Be encouraged by this powerful word.
