How inclusivity can grow your business with Louise O’Reilly
Today’s guest on the show is someone who I have recently connected with and started learning as much as I possibly can from: Louise O’Reilly. With her unique self-expression, heart-centered rebelliousness, and clarity of her thought-provoking vision of what the world could be enjoying, it’s no wonder that Louise is a coach, consultant, blogger, speaker, and an online course creator.
Louise is a Warrwa-Noongar woman who focuses on cultural inclusion, diversity and anti-racism work for people who support equality of Aboriginal people and culture and who want to learn and take action but aren’t sure what to do to be an active ally. Offering online courses, live trainings, coaching, consultancy and speaking services in this field, Louise’s dream is to stimulate co-creation of a more inclusive world, where everyone feels free to be their authentic self while knowing they are valued and belong.
Her drive is her two children; her cheer-squad is her husband; and her inspiration is the calling from deep within her soul. Louise’s teaching and coaching style is inclusive, compassionate and supportive. LouiseOReilly.com.au is where she blogs about Aboriginal human rights, inclusion and diversity creation, her culture, and life from the perspective of a fair-skinned Aboriginal woman.
Outside of business Louise was freelance writing for Amnesty International, a Miss NAIDOC Perth finalist, a radio host and is part of an Australian first, Aboriginal-led visionary 10-year project designed to create social change and reconciliation in Boorloo (Perth).
Louise is generously offering you, as a listener of the show, 20% off any of her courses or programs by entering the coupon code ‘theemilyosmondshow’ at https://louise-oreilly.thinkific.com.
I am at the very beginning of my learning about how I can make my business more inclusive, and how I can best voice the values I believe in and that I wish to show support of. I’m also at the very beginning of actually learning about Aboringinal culture and heritage. As you will hear in this episode, Louise was very patient and generous with me as I came to the conversation with very little knowledge to bring to the table.
I am really grateful to Louise for sharing her time, her experiences and her knowledge and expertise with us. As you listen, please take a screenshot of the episode, share it to your Instagram Stories and tag Louise at @louise.oreilly.shieldandconch and myself at @emilyosmond so we know that you listened.

Emily Skye - fitness mogul, millions of followers and mother
I am so excited to have the absolute powerhouse Emily Skye on the podcast today! Emily, despite her huge business success, is so humble and so down to earth and I loved chatting with her.
If you haven’t heard of Emily Skye before, she is an Australian fitness mogul, entrepreneur and mother of two who is all about sharing her real life and experiences with her community of almost 15 million people worldwide.
Emily was the first person I remember seeing on Instagram sharing the imperfect shots - showing her bloated stomach or pulling silly faces. It was such a contrast to so much of the wider content being shared by others on social media - that didn’t show this real, uncurated, less glamorous side! Whether it’s training, beauty, or motherhood, Emily is loved for sharing her journey with her community through the highs and lows.
In her early adulthood, Emily struggled with her mental health before finding fitness and falling in love with the way it made her feel. She wanted to share that feeling and educate others on how the best thing you can do is be strong and happy.
She has been featured on the cover of Women’s Health in more than 20 countries, and counts powerhouse names like Dwayne Johnson and Khloe Kardashian as friends.
We discuss:
Her business being 20 years of work - not an overnight success
Emily’s approach to keeping it real on social media, how she chooses images to share and how she approaches her caption writing
Staying true to her own values and vision when so many opportunities are offered to her
What she focuses on to pull through when things get tough
How she manages her mental health now while running her business
What she wish she had known when she was first starting out
And so much more!
I have a favour to ask you as you listen to this episode: take a screenshot and share it to your social media and tag myself @emilyosmond and @emilyskyefit so we know you tuned into this episode!
Now without further ado, let’s bring on Emily Skye!
