The Get Paid Podcast is Claire’s attempt to pull back the curtain on the reality of running an online business. All these people pulling in “six figures” - how are they ACTUALLY doing it? What kind of money do they take home after expenses? What are those expenses, anyway? Are they truly “solopreneurs” or are they supported by a team? What does that team do for them? How are they marketing their offerings and growing their lists? How long did it take to get to where they are? You’ll discover how different entrepreneurs get paid and what it costs them to bring in that money.

The Biggest Problem Course Creators Must CONSTANTLY Solve
Are you thinking of launching your own course? Or, maybe you’re already an ace at course creation but you’re struggling to find the right people to buy. If you’re running a service-based business, you may have many people telling you “just create a course and run ads to it.” While that all sounds great, it’s not that simple. In this episode, I’m going to be talking you through the greatest hurdle that you need to overcome again and again, which is growing your audience. I want you to have realistic expectations as to how long it’s going to take and what you need to do. To grow your audience, you can build organic traffic, which takes time and effort from the outset. Or, you can pay for traffic with ads, which requires a certain amount of technical understanding. The majority of business owners opt for a mix of both organic and paid traffic. Both methods can yield a lot of success, but you do need to have a good idea of what you’re doing. The #1 Reason I Can Balance Business With Motherhood
Is it possible to run a successful business while balancing motherhood? Hell yeah! Although it’s never going to be easy. If you’re currently reviewing the question of daycare, thinking of having kids, or you’re planning your maternity leave then this episode will hopefully help a lot as we’re trying to plan and prepare for our second child. When expecting my first baby, my business was still a baby. We were living in Argentina and I’d recently launched this very podcast. When my daughter was born, things were hectic and life was tough. After relocating to Philly we eventually decided daycare would provide the best solution, allowing me to contribute to the family’s finances while getting back to my business. This wasn’t an easy decision and I had a ton of guilt to contend with (which I’ve gotten over for the most part). While we’ve had our ups and downs, there’s been one thing that eventually allowed me to balance motherhood and business. And that’s my husband (or the relationship we’ve cultivated over time). But, there’s a little more to it than that... In this episode, I’m going to be sharing some details of the hardships of parenthood and the widely discussed topic of balancing work and family. I’m also going to be breaking down the moves I made in the business and the decisions that we made as a couple in order to optimize our lives as entrepreneurs while maximizing our effectiveness in parenthood. 7 Skills Online Business Owners Need To Succeed
If you’re someone who’s putting yourself out there, creating a personal brand, and connecting with potential customers, you’re going to find this episode particularly interesting. I’ll be going through the 7 key skills that I think are essential if you want to set your business up for success. Here’s a quick summary: Be remarkable: You have to be compelling, interesting, and stand out from the crowd. Be able to sell: I used to get scared when it came to asking for a sale. Things were awkward and it took time to get comfortable with it. Write things that move people to take action: It doesn’t matter whether it’s social media posts, video scripts, or emails, the words you write have to motivate the reader to take the action you want them to take. Be comfortable out in public: When a big opportunity comes along, you want to already be comfortable talking to others about your profession. Tune out the noise and keep trying new things: It doesn’t matter if the noise is from those around you or your own “inner voice.” You need to learn to stay focused on what matters. Be willing and interested in doing mindset work: It took me nearly four years of being in business, but when I finally met with a mindset coach I realized what I’d been missing out on. Have a willingness to be coached: Even though I figured a lot of things out on my own, opening myself to the idea of being coached helped to scale my business and fast-track my success. While not everyone’s situation is the same, I believe these are the seven things you need to maximize your chances of being successful. Do you agree with my list or are there some things you would change? After listening to the episode, please feel free to publish your list on social media and share the link with me. Me, My Money, and My Financial Upbringing
What impact does your upbringing have on your relationship with money? By the time you listen to this episode, I will have already begun maternity leave. With our second child on the horizon, my husband and I had been pondering an important question: What’s the best way to go about raising your kids when it comes to money? Should you step back and let your kids figure things out for themselves? Or, is it better to set them up and help them with things like college and housing? I didn’t become financially literate until I reached my thirties. When I was a child, my parents rarely discussed money and, even though we weren’t poor, I recall having a slight distaste for people that had an abundance of money. Before listening to this podcast, please understand that I don’t have all the right answers when it comes to your kids and money. I merely wanted to add to the discussion by sharing my story and talking through my current thought process. What are your views on the subject? I’m keen to find out. Feel free to publish them on social media and share with me. Mindset Shift: What I’m Focused On Growing (It’s No Longer Revenue)
What figure comes to mind when you think about growing your business? The number most people talk about is revenue. And, when you’re focused on growing revenue, this is what drives the business decisions you make. During my last launch, however, I had an epiphany. There I was, getting ready to sell a valuable course on evergreen with a low price offering of around $300. If I sold 100, that would make me $30,000 – which is nothing to sneeze at, right? But then I thought about my mentors and the people that I respect (such as the many fabulous guests we have on this show). They’d be quick to tell me “don’t sell anything for less than $5k.” This made me question myself: what am I doing launching a course that’s selling for $300? If I want to go from a $300k business to a $500k business, an extra $30k barely moves the needle. But, should revenue growth be the most important driver in my business? I thought long and hard about it. And, when I considered what’s really important to me and my family, I had a great epiphany that led to this mindset shift. I’ll be sharing all the details with you in this episode.
