This is an album that we have all enjoyed throughout our lives. Both a celebration of lost friends and a dismissal of the music industry, Wish You Were Here showcases a band that achieved all their dreams and yet found a way to create something as (more?) worthwhile than the art the delivered them to the big time. We consider the various aspects of this record from the iconic guitar phrase of Shine on You Crazy Diamond to the cold distance of Welcome to the Machine.
