S1. EP.2 - The First Person to Believe in Me

"You're not being true to yourself when you do that, when you prioritize somebody else's feelings over your own..." In this episode, I chat with my sister Heran Medhin about the importance of having support on the journey to success. We share personal stories and insights on topics like identifying true friendships, breaking free from the need for stability, and protecting your dreams from naysayers. Heran has had a diverse career, from working behind a desk to managing customer relationships for tech giants. Her skills include customer success, social selling, strategy and cross-functional partnerships, account management, consultative selling, negotiation, and delivering a legal perspective. She's passionate about merging technology and legal tech, traveling, and her adorable dog, Ollie! Join us for a fun and insightful conversation as we explore the value of having a supportive network and how to stay true to your dreams, even when faced with obstacles. S1. EP.1 - I'm Quitting My Job, Mom

The very first episode of It Takes A Village is a conversation I had with my mom, Tsegga Medhin. We see entrepreneurship differently, and in this podcast, we dive into our generational and geographical differences that shaped our perspectives. "You want the best for your child, and sometimes maybe our best is not your best, and that's where we were caught..." You'll hear about how my mom felt when I quit my job and how she's been able to support me as a creative child. As a Computer Science graduate of National College and Executive Leadership alumna of UCLA Anderson School of Management, my mom is a renowned speaker and thought leader on capacity building and social innovation for women and girls in STEAM careers. She's the founder of The Pearl Leadership Institute and the President of UN Women USA NC, where she empowers women every day. We'll also explore her unique Eritrean American immigrant perspective and her passion for education, poverty reduction, and shared prosperity. Join us for an insightful conversation on purposeful living and empowering women. You can follow my mom's journey on Twitter @TseggaM.
