Horrifying Vegetable Zombies
Seriously horrifying carved turnips are a great subject for a podcast right? No? Okay how about horror movies? Boy do we have opinions about horror movies. Many of them have fun gnostic interpretations. We chat about a bunch of them with horror movie aficionado and blogger Deacon John DiGilio.

Your mamma’s so fat…
Among the theological geekery, we take all the tangents in this episode. We talk about seeking and seeing, the light within, and lots of silly off-topic stuff too.

The Wisdom Tradition
Rev. Cynthia Bourgeault joins us for a beautiful discussion of the wisdom tradition in Christianity, Gnosticism, and beyond. We discuss the hidden wisdom in the canonical Bible, the Gnostic scriptures, and, most importantly, contemplative practice. What she says about meditation in the modern world will change your view of the practice.
Programming note, we’re going to be recording the show in a new studio starting in a few weeks, but it’s not quite fully set up yet. Please continue to be patient for another few weeks while that is underway, we’ll be posting sporadically until then.

Your Own Personal Jesus
“The Jesus Myth Theory,” the idea that there was never a historical Jesus of Nazareth and his story is constructed from legends and myths is having its time in the sun right now. Popular among many atheists, it’s a viral idea sweeping around the ‘net. But, could such an idea be embraced by the religious? By Gnostics in particular? Our guest Miguel Conner, the OG of Gnostic podcasting, is on to talk about how the mythical Jesus is more powerful than any man or woman from history.

Secret Gospels, Gay Jesus, Jesus’ Wife, & Pinocchio
We continue our discussion on the Secret Gospel of Mark with Dr. Tony Burke of York University. This mysterious text has been used by some to “prove” that Jesus was gay while others claim it’s a forgery. We come at it from all angles, but Secret Mark is not all we talk about in this episode of our Talk Gnosis After Dark podcast. We touch on the intersection between new media, old media and scholarly publication and discourse. Plus, fascinating conversations on Dr. Burke’s connection to the media sensation of The Lost Gospel, and how Pinocchio can be used to teach Gnosticism.

Enlightened Sage or Fat-Headed Egoist?
Deacon John DiGilio has a background in both Gnosticism and Eastern traditions so he’s the perfect guest for us to ask about the criticism that Buddhism and Gnosticism is too self-centered. Here on After Dark the Bishops continue our Gnarcissism episode, with the addition of Father Tony, and get deeper into the effects of individual spiritual practices, the question of “is Gnosticism is only for special smart folks?”, fancy hats and titles, and the fact that this whole reality is just happening in Father Tony’s head.

Ride this Chariot to the Stars
We love to jaw about the Gospel of Thomas, and in this After Dark Bishops Lainie and Ken, plus Father Tony, are joined by Bishop Lewis Keizer for a new perspective on the GoT.
Bishop Lewis Keizer’s research has shown him that Jesus of Nazareth was originally a wisdom teacher of secret mystical knowledge in the traditions of Kabbalah, Merkaba, and Gnosticism. Jesus showed his inner circle of disciples how, through study and meditation, to ascend to have personal experiences with the Divine. The best record we have of these teachings is the Gospel of Thomas, a text Bishop Keizer believes to be often misunderstood. Hear all about it in the podcast below.

Angelic Hangouts
Frater Aschen Chassan is a practicing occultist and grimoiric traditionalist who has been involved in traditional forms of Western ceremonial magic for over fourteen years. He joined us on Talk Gnosis to discuss working with angels and he stuck around to keep the conversation going for this edition of our After Dark podcast. As the podcast portion frequently tends to the wide-ranging Bishops Lainie and Ken, and Father Tony, have a conversation with the good Frater that traverses all levels, dimensions, and states of being. Some of what we cover includes the Frater’s early supernatural experiences, the role of angels in a Gnostic worldview, what working with angels means spiritually, life after death, and gifts and callings.
