Episode 39: Destination Linux EP39 – The Bit You Should Read

Welcome to Episode 39 of Destination Linux for 10/02/17 Correction from last week Just to set things straight, ArchMerge is a separate project from ArchLabs with a completely separate team. There is no collaboration between ArchLabs and ArchMerge and they have a completely different vision about a distro. They each go their own way. I apologize for confusing the two together. News Ubuntu Is Dropping 32-bit Desktop Images Last year OMGubuntu ran a poll asking how which version of Ubuntu you use: 32-bit or 64-bit. The results of that poll revealed that 92% run Ubuntu 64-bit already. It’s a relic that’s sat in my Summer Sale games archive for a while and considered by many to be one of the best games ever created by Valve. I’ve finally broken it out and starting to play through the story. It runs beautifully on Linux and so far find the very hurried pace and a solid story to be incredibly engaging. The fact that I am playing this means Half-Life 3 is confirmed! Half-Life: C.A.G.E.D. from former Valve worker should hopefully come to Linux Might be worth letting them know in the post if you’re interested. ‘SC Controller’ has a pre-release to support more gamepads Atari is launching a new gaming system, the ‘Ataribox’ Official Website WWI FPS ‘Tannenberg’ from the developers of Verdun to see day-1 Linux support Rocket League’s huge ‘Autumn Update’ is now available The SNES Classic Mini Uses the Same Hardware as the NES Mini Admin Destination Linux Apparel Where Can You Find Us This Week Rocco and Ryan will be playing Rocket League live this week on DasGeek Channel Friday Night Live on the BigDaddyLinux Channel Twitter @dasgeekchannel @bigdaddylinux A big thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us and Thank you For Watching Destination Linux Have a great week and remember the Journey ITSELF is just as important as the Destination

If you want Ubiquity to not install grub, running “ubiquity -b” will be of use to you. In my experience, it hasn’t stopped Ubuntu from automatically mounting my EFI partition when I log into my Ubuntu partition, but it does prevent Ubuntu from overwriting the existing GRUB on the EFI partition. I hope this helps. -Mark Destination Linux Apparel Admin A big thank you to each and every one of you for supporting us and Thank you For Watching Destination Linux Have a great week and remember the Journey ITSELF is just as important as the Destination
