The Murder of Margaret Theut

Theresa Alvarez was left with her maternal grandparents at 8 years old after her own mother died. Unfortunately, her grandparents could not financially support extra mouths to feed and Theresa along with her brother were often homeless. That is until Margaret Theut along with a great aunt- Janet Jenkins took the kids in and provided for them. All of this would result 17 years later in Theresa murdering Margaret over money that Margaret was saving to give to a charity.     Join Patreon here to binge bonus content! Crime Curious is creating a kick-ass exclusive listener experience | Patreon https://www.buymeacoffee.com/crimecurious Music By: Michael Drzewiecki Cover Art By: Charnell   PEOPLE OF MI V TERESA HURTADO ALVAREZ :: 2015 :: Michigan Court of Appeals - Unpublished Opinions Decisions :: Michigan Case Law :: Michigan Law :: U.S. Law :: Justia COA 319988 PEOPLE OF MI V TERESA HURTADO ALVAREZ Opinion - Per Curiam - Unpublished 04/28/2015 Detroit woman sentenced to life for murder of the childhood babysitter - mlive.com Detroit Woman Faces Life in Prison for Murder of Elderly Childhood Babysitter — Michigan Criminal Lawyers Blog — December 18, 2013 Teresa Alvarez | Murderpedia, the encyclopedia of murderers

This case even resulted in some interesting case law due to being one of the first where there were questions of fair trial considering how highly public the case had become.    Join Patreon here to binge bonus content! Crime Curious is creating a kick-ass exclusive listener experience | Patreon https://www.buymeacoffee.com/crimecurious Music By: Michael Drzewiecki Cover Art By: Charnell     John Norman Collins | Murderpedia, the encyclopedia of murderers Clippings from The Ann Arbor News, Ypsilanti Press, Detroit News, and Detroit Free Press, 1967-72.
