Episode 92: "Our Patient Rights" With OurPatientRights.Com Founder Laura Bartlett

YOU are in charge of YOUR health and YOUR medical care. There are laws that protect your bodily autonomy--that prevent doctors, nurses, hospitals, administrators, etc. from administering treatments you decline. But if you do not know HOW to protect your choices, if you do not have an advocate to defend those choices, and if you do not have the legal documentation delivered to the right people, your chosen care may not be administered and your wishes not respected. In this episode we talk with Laura Bartlett, founder of www.hospitalhostagehelp.com and ourpatientrights.com, who has been on a "no-profit mission" to help others know their patient rights and how to advocate for them. She also shares how more "ordinary people", just like us, can help spread awareness and change the hospital system and what YOU can do to make a difference. Listen in.

Episode 90: "Make Critical Thinking Cool Again" with Critical Thinking Educator, Kathy Gibbens

Do you know what a fallacy or a red herring or cognitive bias is? Do you know what critical thinking is? Do you know how to do it? It may or may not surprise you that this skill is NOT taught in many American educational institutions anymore. It seems our educational model is more "memorize and regurgitate" over "analyze, ask questions, challenge, and understand". So we invited an educator in critical thinking skills, Kathy Gibbens, host of the "Filter It Through A Brain Cell Podcast" where in 5 minute segments she teaches parents and their children how to think critically. This is a fun and educational episode that we want every single person to listen to, especially you parents, because you CAN become and help your children become a critical thinker!

In other words--the food we eat could be poisoning us. You may have heard of or even used Monsanto's Roundup, the weedkiller containing the toxic chemical glyphosate which has led to Mansanto now reaching an approximately $11 billion settlement with most plaintiffs so far. But the fact that the corporation exposed the public to this toxic chemical knowing the risks while regulatory agencies that are supposed to keep us safe turned a blind eye should open all of OUR eyes to the corruption at hand across multiple industries and government agencies.
