In this episode Dr. Anne speaks with me about re-engaging with your sexuality after Cancer, how sexual health for cancer survivors can become a lost priority and learning to re-write your sexual script.    Dr. Anne Katz is the certified sexuality counsellor and Clinical Nurse Specialist at CancerCare Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. Dr. Katz is the immediate past editor of the Oncology Nursing Forum, the premier research journal of the Oncology Nursing Society. She was inducted into the American Academy of Nursing in 2014.      She is the author of 14books for health care providers and health care consumers on the topics of illness and sexuality as well as cancer survivorship. In this episode Dee Dee talks to me about psychedelic assisted therapy, how it can be used safely, and the benefits people can experience from it when done properly with a therapist.     Dee Dee Goldpaugh, LCSW (they/them/theirs) is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City and Woodstock, NY. Their practice specializes in queer, sex and body-positive psychotherapy, and psychedelic integration, a form of therapy that assists clients in processing and applying the lessons from transpersonal and mystical experiences to their lives. Dee Dee has taught and written widely on the topic of psychedelics and sexuality.     As a survivor of sexual violence, Dee Dee sought healing with plant medicines in Peru to heal PTSD and has since become an advocate for therapist education, cognitive liberty, and the decriminalization of psychedelic medicines. His twice-monthly blog on PsychologyToday.com, “All About Sex,” launched in 2009, attracts some 700,000 views a month—with total views topping 50 million. His free Q&A site, GreatSexGuidance.com, launched in 2010, has become one of the Internet’s most authoritative sources of personalized sex advice. For 10 years (1998-2007), he answered all the sex questions submitted to Xandria, then a major marketer of sex toys. He has also answered sex questions for WebMD, AARP.com, and several other web sites.
