Hey there! On today's episode of #MeetCoolPeople, I had a fantastic conversation with my friend and client, Janie Owen-Bugh. Janie is a passionate graphic designer and color enthusiast, making brands look amazing. Her recent book, "Everything You Never Wanted to Know About Color," is a must-read for anyone wanting to understand the impact of color on their business (and I genuinely do believe that if you’re in business, that should be you!) Here's what I love about Janie's story - she literally grew up around graphics in her parents' print shop and turned that lifelong connection into a thriving career. As a former designer myself, we go to talk a lot about stuff I used to geek out about. 🙂 During our chat, we discussed the journey of understanding and utilizing color in branding. If you’re new to branding or a seasoned pro, Janie’s approach brings a fun and practical lens to making color work for you. Your logo and colors should have variations to fit different mediums and uses. From screen to print, making sure your color choice is versatile is key.The Importance of Cultural Differences: Colors can carry different meanings in different cultures. Janie pointed out the need to consider these differences, especially for brands operating internationally.Emotion and Brand Connection: Janie shared practical ways to align your brand's color choices with the emotions you want to evoke in your audience.
