Principles, Tactics, and Mindset for practical fitness

Our beliefs form our behavior. This means that when our behavior is not eliciting the results we are looking for, we need to evaluate the beliefs that lead to us adopting behavior in the first place. Our thesis: The fitness community has built a belief set that is not garnering the desired results. We can either blame people for not participating, or we can ask ourselves why they choose not to participate and take responsibility for making ourselves as approachable and useful as possible.  This is a bonus episode. It's our intention to provide you with more content than ever this year. How to make fitness more valuable

The average fitness professional earns roughly $19/hour, an the barrier to entry into fitness as a career is a test that can take less than an hour to complete plus a CPR certification. These combine for a low barrier, low incentive industry to be world class in. It's our belief that the low barrier and low incentive is leading to a less than desirable consistency with which people can expect meaningful results. It's a three pillar problem that  Dr. Sean has a solution for. If he's right, everyone wins.  This is a bonus episode. It's our intention to provide you with more content than ever this year. Medication and Bariatric Surgery for Kids?!

Yesterday I made a post promising I would review the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendation that children take medications and undergo bariatric surgery to fight Obesity. The Wall Street Journal and CNN (and many other outlets) wrote articles discussing the medication and surgical recommendations. In this podcast I break down in very simple terms how truthful they were, and what I believe needs to be done to curb this catastrophic problem facing American society.  AAP recommendation document - https://publications.aap.org/pediatrics/article/doi/10.1542/peds.2022-060640/190443/Clinical-Practice-Guideline-for-the-Evaluation-and?autologincheck=redirected https://www.wsj.com/articles/pediatricians-recommend-weight-loss-drugs-for-obese-children-11673213563 https://www.cnn.com/2023/01/09/health/childhood-obesity-treatment-guidelines-wellness/index.html   Leave us a review, and share the show!
